Slot Overview
Mandalay Bay Riches is a Las Vegas–inspired video slot from Play’n GO, and it’s all designed around Cash Coins, collectible Chests, and a Hold & Win bonus. It may look like familiar mechanics, but with a maximum win potential of up to 15,000x, is this a game you should try? Let’s find out.
Theme & Design
Mandalay Bay Riches leans heavily into luxury Las Vegas imagery, with palm trees, gold-framed reels, and the iconic Mandalay Bay itself dominating the background. The colours are bright, and it actually looks quite similar to Big Time Gaming’s visuals, which is unusual for Play’n GO, who are known best for games like Reactoonz and Moon Princess 100.
Above the reels, you will also see three different modifiers, details of which we’ll cover shortly. The left-hand side also displays the game’s four fixed jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand. Again, we’ll discuss these shortly.

Mandalay Bay Gameplay & Bonus Features
Mandalay Bay Riches is played on a five-reel, three-row layout. There are ten fixed paylines in play at all times. Wins are paid from left to right, and you can bet between €0.10 and €50 per spin. The game’s default RTP is 96.2%, but lower settings are available, like all Play’n GO slots.
Now, in the base game, Cash Coins can land face-down, and when they do, they carry one of three symbols. If a Vault symbol also lands, all Cash Coins flip instantly to reveal their values. Without a Vault, standard Cash Coins are collected into matching Chests for later use.
Big Cash Coins, on the other hand, always pay an instant prize when they land. Their values are: Mini (20x), Minor (50x), Major (200x), and Grand (1,000x.) During the base game, these Big Cash values have a chance to grow by +1x total bet per spin until they’re won, too, at which point they reset to their default values.
Now, when Cash Coins are collected by Chests, there’s a chance to trigger the Hold & Win bonus, too. When activated, you receive 3 Respins, with the re-spin counter resetting whenever new coins land.
Up to three modifiers can trigger when the bonus starts, too:
- Expand Feature: Increases the size of the reels
- Multiplier Feature: All wins are multiplied by 2x
- Big Cash Feature: Awards one Big Cash Coin instantly
The Respins continue until you either fill the grid, or fail to land any new Cash Coin symbols for 3 consecutive re-spins.
Pros
- Win up to 15,000x.
- Clean Hold & Win mechanics.
- Unique growing Big Cash prizes.
Cons
- The base game can feel quiet without Vault triggers.
- The game is quite dated with its design.
- No Bonus Buy/Ante Bet options.
Mandalay Bay Slot Review Final Thoughts
Mandalay Bay Riches is a decent little mid-volatility slot from Play’n GO, and while it doesn’t offer anything overly innovative, it does a fairly good job of being consistent and predictable. During testing, we found that the Coin and Chest systems build anticipation gradually, rather than delivering the dopamine injections you get from some software providers today!
The features work well with one another, and we particularly like how the Big Cash Coins and Multipliers combine. The maximum win potential is pretty solid too, at 15,000x, but just make sure that you’re playing one of the higher RTP settings of the game, as Play’n GO offers some pretty low configuration options to operators!
