Game Overview

Here’s a super dark looking game from new kid on the block Slotmill; Lucky Lucifer online slot is an immaculately presented game filled with skeletons, evil looking statues, and demons. The game engine includes several trademark Slotmill twists such as the Boost enhanced autoplay mode and bonus buy feature, whilst regular play takes place on a 40 fixed payline reel set. An RTP of 96.35% and a capped maximum jackpot of 10,000x stake should be enough to attract most online slot players.

Looking under the hood briefly, it seems that Lucky Lucifer contains two headline features. The first of these is triggered roughly one in three occasions that a wild lands on the screen, although that didn’t happen as often as I would have liked during testing. When the wild does show up, you may find that it will begin moving around the reels leaving a trail of additional wild symbols behind it. The second feature is named “Lucifers Luck” (dead creative there, Slotmill!) and is a 3-spin bonus that takes place on a separate reel set.

Slotmill’s games have been mostly decent so far – if you haven’t tried the developer’s games yet then we recommend you give our free demo slot of Lucky Lucifer a try below. You can access this on your desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Lucky Lucifer Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Lucky Lucifer Slot

Let’s talk about the theme for a moment; Lucifer is one of many names attributed to the devil in folklore. The most well-known occurrence of the name appears in the Christian bible, immortalising the nickname likely for centuries to come. As you might expect, Lucifer has since appeared in countless examples of entertainment media and has even been the focus of some modern-day cults. The freemasons are said to worship Lucifer, and those guys are apparently responsible for everything bad that happens in the world. Ever. Down with Lucifer then, I guess!

I think that’s quite enough black magic and witchcraft nonsense for one day – back to Lucky Lucifer online slot. There are no payouts listed on the paytable for either the bonus scatter symbol or the wild unfortunately, making the red devil the games highest-paying symbol with a return of 30x for five-of-a-kind. A purple, female-looking devil character takes the second-placed spot with a payout of 20x for all five, whilst another female in blue completes the trio paying 15x for five-of-a-kind. A second group of four “medium-paying” symbols are included prior to the royals, but the payouts are limited to between 5x and 3x stake for all five.

We’ve spoken before about Slotmill’s wager selection mechanics, so we’ll only touch on it briefly here. Two buttons located either side of the spin button allow you to choose your bet size; this isn’t a perfect setup, but it does at least ensure that you cannot accidentally hit a “max bet” button, wasting your bankroll, or potentially overshooting any limits on bonus play that may be active at the casino where you are playing. The minimum bet per spin is a low-roller friendly €0.10 per spin, whilst the maximum allowed is €30.00 per spin.

Base Game & Modifiers

Lucky Lucifer Online Slot From Provider Slotmill Features 5 Reels, 40 Paylines, And A Maximum Win Of 10,000x Bet

Base gameplay in Slotmill’s Lucky Lucifer slot game takes place on a 5×4 playfield utilizing 40 fixed pay lines. Wins are awarded for hitting three or more matching symbols from left-to-right, as in most other online slots.

Trailing Wild Modifier

Wild symbols do not appear very often in Lucky Lucifer, so it would have been nice if this modifier triggered each time one lands on the reels. From my experience whilst testing this game I would estimate that the mod only kicks in roughly one in three times, and there are no wilds in the bonus game either.

On the plus side, when the trailing wild does activate you will see the symbol begin to move around the reels leaving a trail of additional wilds in its wake. This modifier can add between one to seven extra wilds to the reels in addition to the starting position, which can make for extremely lucrative wins if the positioning is favourable.

I really wanted to see what could happen if two or more wilds activated this feature at the same time, but despite my best efforts I never saw this happen before I had to wrap things up on this review. From that, I think it is fair to summarise that such an event cannot happen very often, if at all.

Burst Mode Feature

This is a feature that is unique to Slotmill’s games and is only available in jurisdictions which already permit enhanced speed gameplay. Billed as being “A faster autoplay” by the developer, Burst Mode removes the reels from the screen and only shows the result of winning rounds instead. It’s certainly fast, but I can imagine there will be many players who think this is taking it a little bit too far.

Lucky Lucifer Slot Bonus Feature

Land A Scatter Symbol On Reels 1, 3, And 5 To Trigger The Bonus Feature On Lucky Lucifer Video Slot

Most of Slotmill’s games include a free spin-based bonus round of some kind, but Lucky Lucifer’s offering is perhaps more of a bonus game than a free spin round. The bonus scatter appears only on reels one, three, and five, but it didn’t feel any harder to hit than the feature than in games with five scatter symbols.

At the beginning of the feature, the reels will be swapped out for a new 5×5 grid of single-spaced reels, with each of the 25 positions spinning independently from one another. You will start the bonus round with three lifelines, and If you hit at least one new symbol during your spin your lifelines will remain at 3. Failing to land any new symbols will reduce your life total by 1, with the feature ending when they reach zero.

During the bonus game, all the regular symbols are removed from the reels and replaced by cash prizes and multipliers. There are also two “pentagram hotspots” which will unlock additional rows if uncovered, providing extra spaces for prizes and a higher chance to hit extra symbols with each new spin.

As a final touch, filling the screen with prize symbols including the additional two rows will add an additional 666x your bet to your winnings before the bonus is concluded.

Bonus Buy

If permitted in your Jurisdiction you can opt to purchase the Lucifers Luck bonus feature for 80x your current stake. This seems like a fair price for the feature to me, and whilst I did end up making a loss several times during testing, I also had my fair share of profitable rounds as well. If you have the option to use this feature, then I’d recommend doing so.

Lucky Lucifer Slot Review Final Thoughts

Lucky Lucifer is a great example of what this developer can do; a superbly presented, addictive online slot with a decent feature set and a reasonable maximum winnings cap. Recommended!
