There are many similarities between the Lucky Larry games and Lobster Bob’s – both franchises share a similar visual style as well as attempting to invoke a little fish-themed humour here and there.
Lobster Bob makes an appearance on the game’s paytable as the wild symbol, offering by far the highest return at 125x the total bet for all five symbols. As for the regular symbols, the Oyster – complete with pearl – is the most valuable and boasts a payout of 37.5x the current stake for a complete line of five of a kind. There’s only one other truly high-paying symbol, unfortunately – the Treasure Chests, offering a return of 20x the total bet for all five symbols. The next symbol in the line-up is an Anchor, a full payline of which is worth 7.5x your bet; after that the rest of the paytable is made up entirely of low-paying royal symbols. Five Aces or Kings will get you 3.25x your bet back in winnings, followed by 2x for five Queens and 1x for five Jacks or Tens.

The base game of Lobster Bob’s Crazy Crab Shack offers few surprises, especially if you are already an experienced slots player. The 5×3 reel configuration is a very common design for a video slot, as are the 20 fixed paylines. Unlike many other games, however, there are two ways to score a win whilst playing this machine; first, you can line up three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the left. Respin Feature
During the base game, landing two free spin symbols without the third necessary to trigger the bonus will activate a re-spin feature. This will cause the free spin symbols to move down by one position and the reels which do not contain a free symbol to re-spin, giving you another chance to hit the last scatter needed to trigger the bonus.
Scattered Crabs
The scattered crab is an instant-pay symbol. Cash prizes are paid for landing between three and nine of these during a single spin, but they are also collected during the re-spin feature, which allows you to accumulate them throughout several rounds.

That’s quite a lot of things that need to go right for you to stand a chance of collecting a jackpot, but on the plus side, catching three further bonus symbols whilst the feature is active will award you a new set of 10-30 spins along with another chance to score the top multiplier.

Lobster Bob’s Crazy Crab Shack is mostly average - it looks nice, has a quirky theme, and the payouts are decent enough although not particularly remarkable. Whilst I had a blast testing the machine, I just can’t imagine many people will remember it in a year’s time.
