Game Overview
If you were to go mining for gold and valuable stones, you’d sure need a lot of luck to bag yourself a haul that was going to bring in any real money, so your best bet would be to grab all of your lucky charms with you as you head out. However, thanks to Play’n GO, you can now go one step further and take a companion with you who is renowned for things going their way. Okay, so welcome to Leprechaun’s Diamond Dig slot, a 5-reel game with mega blasts, collection features, and wins that can reach a maximum of 3,000x the bet.
Theme & Design
Typically, if you play a mining-themed slot, you’re heading deep underground, whereas if it’s an Irish-themed game you’re spinning the reels on, there’s a good chance you’ll end up somewhere in a meadow. So yes, you’ve guessed it; in Leprechaun’s Diamond Dig, you’re working on a mine out in a meadow. How easy was that for Play’n GO? Anyway, theme aside, the game is reasonably well-presented, and whilst not being the best of what the studio can produce, it’s far from being the worst either.
It’s time for some recommendations, and as I mentioned, this is a cross-genre release, so it makes sense to point you in the direction of those niches separately so you can explore them further. If you’re wanting to stay with the luck theme, then head over to our Irish slots page, or if unearthing valuable gems is more your thing, then the mining-themed slots category is the one for you.

Leprechaun’s Diamond Dig Gameplay & Features
Play’n GO’s Leprechaun’s Diamond Dig is a 5-reel, 4-row online slot with medium volatility, 12 paylines, and an RTP of 96%. As with all PNG slots, there is a wide betting range for players to take advantage of, with stakes starting from a minimum of €0.10 a spin up to a maximum of €50.
Moving onto the features, the main element to look out for is the two carts above the reels. On any spin in the base game, it’s possible for a leprechaun to poke his head out of a cart to make it active. If it becomes activated and there is a monetary value on the reel below it, then it will be collected and added to your balance. If both carts are on the same reel, a mega blast will trigger, and all monetary values in view will be paid.
That leaves us with the free spins bonus to tell you about, which is triggered when 3 or more scatters land in view, awarding 10 spins to begin with. During this bonus, the carts are active at all times and can also collect lucky clover symbols, which will move you along the mega blast multiplier above the reels. Each time you reach a new milestone on the meter, you will be awarded extra spins and, of course, the multiplier value if and when the mega blast is activated.
Pros
- The carts are active in the base game and bonus round.
- Mixes two popular themes together.
- The mega blast multiplier can reach up to 25x.
Cons
- Poor max win of only 3,000x.
- If you don't progress far on the meter, it's hard to win anything substantial.
Leprechaun's Diamond Dig Slot Review Final Thoughts
Whilst I initially had high hopes for Leprechaun's Diamond Dig, any chances of it being rated highly here at Demoslot were soon scuppered when I realised how rarely the leprechauns activated the carts in the base game. Things then went from bad to worse after playing three features and failing to get past the first milestone on them all, resulting in bonuses that paid under 20x.
Sure, this is a very small sample size, but from what I saw, it was enough to guarantee that I won't be coming back to play this again any time soon.
