Theme & Design

Inspired Gaming has always been a studio that’s interested us. They have produced some really fun, exciting games, but they always seem to miss the mark just a smudge. Whether it’s poor design or a clearly rushed maths model, their games just don’t have the same weight and feel as those you’d see from studios like Elk Studios or Nolimit City, but are things starting to change?

Kong It Up! Large is very well-polished, and while it’s not the most unique theme in the world, Inspired has pulled it off well, we feel. The reel set sits within a dense jungle with animated bananas, glowing prize pot tokens, and Kong himself, and the graphics, while not revolutionary, are certainly good enough to atisfy most players.

Incidentally, Kong It Up! Large is being released shortly after King Kong Crash Climber, another Inspired Gaming creation. It may not be as popular as their older titles like Centurion Megaways, but it’s not a bad effort, either, to be honest.

Kong It Up! Large Gameplay & Bonus Features

Kong It Up! Large plays across 5 reels and 3 rows, with 10 fixed paylines and a stake range from €0.10 up to an enormous €150 per spin, making it one of the widest betting ranges you’ll find on any Inspired release!  The game boasts a default RTP of 94.50%, which is a little below average.

As mentioned, there’s a HUGE amount of bonuses and features to unpack, and first up are the Banana Cash symbols. These appear on reels 1-4 in the base game and display values of up to 5x. (During the enhanced free spins they can reveal up to 100x.) Big Cash Bananas can also land, awarding the value shown if paired with a Collector or Bonus Collector symbol. Every Cash symbol that lands adds its value to the Banana Pile.

You will also notice a Collect symbol on the 5th reel. When this lands, it collects every banana in view and awards its value.

The Banana Toss Modifier is a random feature which can trigger if at least one banana has been added to the banana pile. If it activates, Kong can leap out and throw extra bananas onto the pile, triggering the Kong Wheel Bonus. When this is triggered, it awards one of the following:

• Cash Bank Free Spins Bonus
• The Upgrade Wheel
• Mini Prize Pot (10x)
• Minor Prize Pot (25x)
• Major Prize Pot (50x)
• Grand Prize Pot (1000x)

If Cash Bank Free Spins are awarded, a Bonus Collect symbol is placed onto reel 5 to instantly trigger the feature with all Bananas already in view.

Now, if the main wheel lands on Upgrade, the slot moves to an enhanced wheel awarding:

• Double Collect Cash Bank Free Spins
• The Grand Prize Pot (1000x)

If Double Collect Free Spins are awarded, the game inserts the Double Collect Bonus Collect symbol onto reel 5. If Golden Banana Free Spins are awarded, the game adds the Golden Banana Bonus Collect to reel 5 and upgrades all Cash symbols to golden values (minimum 10x).

When inside any Free Spins mode, bananas continue to feed into the banana pile. Each banana has a chance to award the Free Spins Kong Wheel, which can award:

Prize Pot Tokens behave exactly as they do during the Cash Bank Free Spins, but you’ll also see Double Collect symbols, which means values are collected twice.

Finally, there’s the Golden Banana Cash Bank Free Spins. Again, this awards you 8 free spins, and during this bonus round, all Cash Symbols become golden and display values of at least 10x.

Bonus Buy / Fortune Bet / Fortune Spin Options

Kong It Up! Large offers a number of different bonus buy options. You can buy directly into the Kong Wheel Bonus, the Golden Banana Cash Bank Free Spins, or the Double Collect Cash Bank Free Spins, or choose Mystery Cash Bank Free Spins, which awards one of the three Cash Bank bonuses randomly.

You can also activate Fortune Spins. In doing so, the reels are replaced with a special grid that only contains cash symbols, blanks, Collect symbols, and Bonus Collects.  Collectors collect everything in view, and landing 4+ Cash symbols + Bonus Collect triggers Cash Bank Free Spins.

Finally, there’s Inspired Gaming’s signature Fortune Bet. This increases your base game stake by 1.5x and increases the frequency of triggering the Kong Wheel Bonus.
