Theme & Design

King’s Mystery has a decent enough design, and the reels are set in front of the Great Pyramids, with a nice neon-lit sky visible in the distance. It’s not the most modern-looking game in the world, but it does the job, and the reels display a variety of fruits.

It loosely reminds us of another Playtech slot, Sahara Riches Megaways: Cash Collect, although there are four progressive jackpots in the game, so if you were a fan of original Playtech games like Gladiator, it may resonate with you.

King’s Mystery Gameplay & Features

King’s Mystery is designed around a five-reel, four-row layout, and there are 40 paylines in play at all times. These are fixed paylines, so, unlike some of Playtech’s older games, you’re unable to adjust the number of active lines. King’s Mystery can be played between €0.08 and €400 per spin, so there’s definitely a bet level for pretty much any player!

The game’s wild symbol is the Pharaoh, and he can land on all five reels. When he does, he substitutes for all symbols, except the scatter symbols and mystery symbols. The mystery symbols, by the way, are gold coins, and they can also land on all five reels. Whenever mystery coins land in view, they all change to the same symbol, so, if you manage to land a few in view, you can end up with multiple winning lines of the same symbol.

King’s Mystery’s main feature is a free spins bonus, and this is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view. Landing 3 in view awards 10 free games, 4 awards 12 free games, and 5 awards 15 free games. Now, the free spins are played out at the same stake as your base game spins, but whenever mystery symbols land, they can only reveal wild symbols, making it much easier to form wins.
