Game Overview
I never quite understand why some slot developers like to create hybrid slots that look like they’re actually a classic with nothing much to offer but, in reality, have a bunch of modern bonus features thrown in. Some players avoid classic slots like the plague, so surely these slots get played less than they would have if the developers had just used a modern theme instead? It works the other way, too, as true classic slot enthusiasts will switch once they discover there are more features than there should be. Joker’s Jewels Dazzle from Pragmatic Play is exactly that, a slot designed to look old and basic but, in fact, has some interesting bonus features that wouldn’t look out of place on modern titles. The slot has a 5×3 format, 20 paylines, and a 96% RTP, which is fine, but it also has two bonus games and three fixed jackpots.
There isn’t much going on during the base game, granted, aside from wild symbols helping to create winning combinations and Cash and jackpot symbols, which mean nothing at this point. However, land enough of those symbols, and you’ll trigger a Hold & Win game that lets you collect cash symbols worth up to 100x and Mini and Major jackpots worth 30x and 100x, respectively. Plus, fill all positions on the reels, and you’ll win the Mega jackpot worth 1,000x. That’s not all, though, as there is also a free spins round featuring three middle reels combined as one that spins in giant symbols.
As you know, Jokers or Jesters as they’re sometimes called, were employed to put a smile on people’s faces. Will Joker’s Jewels Dazzle have the same effect, or will you skip straight to our next slot review in your search for something to play? The quickest and easiest way to find out is through a few quick spins on the Joker’s Jewels Dazzle slot demo below.
Joker’s Jewels Dazzle Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Joker’s Jewels Dazzle is the second slot in the Joker’s Jewels series from Pragmatic Play, and if you think this is retro in design, wait until you see Joker’s Jewels Wild. It has just five paylines, no bonus games, and just expanding wilds to keep you company. However, the paytable does boast some impressive payouts, the biggest of which is 1,200x the stake for five Banjo symbols on a payline.
Sadly, you won’t see payouts anywhere near as big on Joker’s Jewels Dazzle, with the best you can hope for being 20x the stake coming your way for five Wilds or five Jokers across a payline. The Banjo comes next, paying up to 16x, while the Marakas and Boots pay 12x and 8x, respectively. The Red, Green, Purple, and Blue Gems finalise the paytable representing the lower pays, and all share a 2x return for their biggest combinations.
Completing this section, we end with the bet selection available on Joker’s Jewels Dazzle, and I can report there are a whopping 40 staking options to consider. The lowest comes in at €0.25 per spin, while high rollers can spin for as much as €125.
Joker’s Jewels Dazzle Slot Base Game & Modifiers
Like its predecessor, the action takes place on Joker’s Jewels Dazzle across a 5×3 setup, although this time, there are 25 paylines instead of 5. Winning combinations are formed when three of the same type of regular symbol land across a payline from left to right, starting from the first reel.
Money & Jackpot Symbols
Aside from the regular symbols discussed earlier, Money and Jackpot symbols can land during the base game and free spins bonus. However, you cannot win these values until you trigger the Money Respin Feature. The symbols that can land are:
- Money Symbols holding values of 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 10x, 14x, 16x, 18x, 20x, 24x, 30x, or 100x the stake.
- The Mini (30x) and Major (100x) jackpot symbols.
Joker’s Jewels Dazzle Slot Bonus Features
There’s not one, but two bonus games on Joker’s Jewels Dazzle, with one a free spins bonus and another a Hold & Win style game. Let’s dig into the details further and uncover what you can expect from them.
Free Spins Feature
Landing a scatter symbol on the first, third, and fifth reels will trigger 5 free spins. On every spin, the middle three reels spin as one giant symbol. It’s also possible to trigger an additional 3 spins an unlimited number of times when you land 3 or more scatters on a spin.
Money Respin Feature
When six or more Money or Jackpot symbols land on a base game spin, the Money Respins Feature triggers. All the triggering symbols carry over to the bonus and lock in place, while all others are removed from the reels. You receive an initial 3 re-spins of the reels, which only contain blank spaces and the special money and jackpot symbols.
Each new instance of either symbol will reset the spin count back to three, and the bonus finishes once that counter reaches zero or you fill all positions on the reels. If the latter, you scoop the Mega Jackpot worth 1,000x the stake. If the former, you receive the combined value of the cash and jackpot symbols collected
Pros
- There are two bonus games to aim for, one a free spins bonus with giant symbols, and another a Hold & Win game.
Cons
- The design may be off-putting for some.
Joker's Jewels Dazzle Slot Review Final Thoughts
Pragmatic Play likes to throw in a classic-style slot from time to time, and this is probably one of the better ones I’ve played from the developer. Sure, technically, it’s not classic at all and just made to look like it is, but the theme aside, I thought the slot was quite enjoyable. That’s mainly because of the two bonus games that offer something different from each other.
