Game Overview

Jaws of Justice is a cosmic-themed video slot from Hacksaw Gaming that takes you on an interstellar journey packed with… laser-shooting sharks, multipliers, and a maximum win potential of up to 10,000x! It sounds unique, but is it any good? Let’s find out.

Theme & Design

Jaws of Justice combines sci-fi themes with an underwater look, and it’s basically a theme that only Hacksaw Gaming could pull off. The reels themselves are set against a cosmic background, and there are two (ill-looking) sharks seen on either side of the reels.

We guess you could describe it as being part horror movie, part comic book-inspired, with a little bit of humour sprinkled in: pretty much exactly what Hacksaw Gaming does best.

Jaws of Justice Gameplay & Features

Jaws of Justice is designed around a five-reel, four-row layout, and you’ll find 14 fixed paylines in play at all times. Winning combos are formed by matching symbols from left to right. You can bet between €0.10 and €100 per spin. The game, like all Hacksaw Gaming releases, has variable RTP settings, but the default is set at 96.20%.

The key base game mechanic revolves around Laser Shark symbols, which only appear on the bottom row. When they land, they fire laser beams in one of three directions, either straight up, diagonally left, or diagonally right. When this happens, all the symbols in their path transform into wild symbols. Plus, if a laser hits an existing wild, it adds a multiplier that can be worth up to 200x!

You’ll also find Force Fields located around the edges of the grid. When a laser beam hits one of them, it bounces back or goes off in another direction, which means one laser beam can end up creating multiple wilds or adding multiple multipliers!

Now, the game’s bonus rounds are Killer Cosmos, Chompocalypse, and Nuclear Nebula. Three scatter symbols trigger Killer Cosmos, awarding 10 free spins with a higher chance of Laser Sharks appearing. Four scatters trigger Chompocalypse, also with 10 spins, but with every Laser Shark firing in two directions instead of one.

The “Super Bonus”, if you like, is the Nuclear Nebula, and it’s triggered by landing five scatter symbols. In this bonus round, you’re guaranteed to land at least one Laser Shark on every spin, so there’s virtually no chance of not hitting some monster wins.

Feature Buys

Like all Hacksaw Gaming slots today, Jaws of Justice also includes a few Feature/Bonus buys. You can pay 3x your base game stake to trigger BonusHunt FeatureSpins, which makes it five times easier to trigger a bonus round, while paying 100x for the Lazzzer FeatureSpins guarantees at least one Laser Shark per spin.

You can also buy direct entry into the Killer Cosmos bonus round for 100x your base game stake, and the Chompocalypse bonus costs 250x.

Pros

  • Pretty impressive design and original sci-fi graphics.
  • Laser mechanics are unpredictable and exciting.
  • Win up to 10,000x.

Cons

  • Highly volatile slot machine.
  • Feature Buy prices are quite expensive.

Jaws of Justice Slot Review Final Thoughts

Jaws of Justice proves once again that Hacksaw Gaming isn’t afraid to get weird. While it doesn’t always pay off, the software provider has a knack of producing hits MOST of the time. While it’s still too early to tell whether Jaws of Justice will prove to be a success, it appears likely, and it’s not hard to see why.

The combination of creative wild mechanics, high-quality artwork, and volatile bonus rounds makes this one of the developer’s most entertaining sci-fi releases yet, and while some players may find the 10,000x maximum win potential a little low compared to what we’re seeing from other providers these days, it’s in line with most Hacksaw releases, so, for us, this is a perfect slot for players wanting entertaining, chaotic, and high-risk gameplay!
