Game Overview

Has the internet entered a new cat meme phase without me noticing? There’s been a flurry (or should that be furry?) of cat-themed slots recently, and I understand there are more on the way before Christmas. I wonder if dogs will ever get a turn? This latest feline frenzy is brought to you by our reliable friends over at Play’N’Go and is named Immortails of Egypt – not only is this a cat-themed game, but it also blends elements of Ancient Egypt as well. The game uses an unusual payout mechanic that Play’N’Go has deemed “Connecting Paylines”. This works similarly to pay ways, but combinations can branch out from one another and be counted as two winning pay lines. The RTP is 96.20%, whilst the maximum win is stated as 10,000x the bet.

As for the feature set, there is a wild transformation feature which activates after any winning combinations are removed from the reels, as well as a secondary transformation feature described as “The cat gods beat up Apep and turn him into a wild!”. Hah, Play’N’Go, you’re so crazy! There is also a free spins feature which adds multipliers and a larger 5×4 playfield configuration, as well as expanding wild symbols to the reels. It may not sound like a huge collection of bonuses, but all of them occur with a reasonable frequency which makes the title feel like an action-packed game.

Play’N’Go can almost always be relied upon to produce a fun and entertaining game, so why not give our free demo slot of Immortails of Egypt a try below?

Immortails Of Egypt Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Immortails Of Egypt Slot

Ever since the first Cleopatra slot machine by IGT, Egypt has been one of the most common – and popular – themes amongst slot developers. There have been countless amazing games with an Ancient Egyptian theme, including several from Play’N’Go. In fact, Play’N’Go produced one of my favourite games in this genre – Legacy of Egypt – although that game seems much less generous to me these days than it was when it first came out. I’m not suggesting a conspiracy – obviously, I’ve just had bad luck – but I’m hoping that I’ll have some better luck whilst playing this new game instead.

Let’s start by checking out the numbers on the paytable; our highest-paying feline friend is a black cat on a red backdrop with a payout of 6x your bet for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind. A brown cat on a green backdrop is next and pays 5x the bet for all five, followed by a white cat on a blue backdrop with a return of 4x for each completed pay line. The middle-paying symbols include a snake which pays 3x the bet for five-of-a-kind, and two cats toys – I’m not joking – both of which will pay you twice the current stake for all five. Five royal symbols make up the bottom half of the paytable, but all have returns of just 1x or 1.2x the current bet.

Play’N’Go has incorporated their usual method of selecting your current wager. There are five quick bet buttons underneath the reels and left and right controls that allow you to scroll between the minimum bet of €0.10 and the maximum bet of €100.00 per round.

Base Game & Modifiers

Win Up To 10,000x Your Bet In The Immortails Of Egypt Online Slot From Provider Play'n Go

There haven’t been many surprises so far unless you count the lower-than-expected numbers on the paytable. That fact is the result of the unusual payout mechanic, which Play’N’Go has called “Connecting Paylines”, although I’d say it is more akin to “Connecting Payways”, personally.

The game uses a typical 5×3 playfield as standard, expanding to 5×4 when the free spins bonus round is in play. Before we get to the bonus round, however, we have some base game features to explore:

Wild Transformation Modifier

Immortails of Egypt is a rolling reels machine, meaning that all winning combinations are removed immediately from the reels. Each time a winning combination is scored, one of the three “cat gods” shown above the reel set will be awakened.

The paytable notes that you can “Win big by landing all 3 Cat God wilds!” but omits to mention that these guys will immediately show up on the subsequent cascade of symbols after they are awakened. This seems like a rather important detail to forget, but on the other hand, you are sure to see the cats appear anyway!

Wild Transformation Modifier 2

A secondary wild transforming modifier is also included and activates if Apep appears on the reels after you have awoken one or more of the cat gods. Apep, in case you weren’t aware, is the middle-paying snake character and will transform into an additional wild any time he lands next to one of the cat gods.

Immortails Of Egypt Slot Bonus Features

Scatter Symbols Landing On Reels 1, 3, And 5 Will Trigger The Free Spins Feature On Immortails Of Egypt Video Slot

Three scatter symbols appear on reels one, three, and five, and hitting all three of them together will trigger the free spin bonus round. Unfortunately, there’s no accompanying cash payout and no option to purchase a bonus, but the feature itself is excellent.

During this mode, the reel set will expand by an additional row, creating more opportunities to create winning pay lines. Furthermore, three reels are selected at the beginning of each spin as the expanding wild reels and any wilds that land here will expand to cover all four vertical positions.

After every third winning symbol cascade, the current multiplier will increase by one. There doesn’t appear to be any limit on how high this multiplier can go, but you’ll need a fair amount of luck to reach double digits – I never got there while I was testing this game.

Immortails Of Egypt Slot Review Final Thoughts

The theme of the Immortails of Egypt online slot is a fun one, and it’s nice to see a light-hearted take on the Ancient Egyptian theme for a change. The feature set isn’t half bad either, and the maximum win should be enough to tempt most players to try this slot. It’s not Play’N’Go’s best ever machine, but it’s still a recommended game that I think you will enjoy.
