Theme & Design

Hot Jalapeño Charge Up is quite clearly set in the midst of a Mexican street festival, and while there’s a distinct lack of any actual people, the game is well-designed. Behind the reels, you’ll see the street setting itself, complete with cacti, bunting, a clear blue sky, and cartoon-like characters on the reels.

The reels themselves have chillies hanging down on either side. The premium symbols include tequila shots, hot sauce bottles, cacti, and a cute chihuahua. Hot Jalapeno Charge Up Gameplay & Bonus Features

Hot Jalapeño Charge Up is played on a 5-reel, 3-row layout with 25 fixed paylines. Wins are formed from left to right. The betting range spans from €0.25 up to €150 per spin, and the game has a fixed RTP of 96.02%.

As the name hints towards, the Charge Up feature is the heart of the game, and it’s a progression-based mechanic. Each Scatter symbol that lands gets collected and added to the Charge Up Meter. Once you collect 20 Scatters, it’s filled, which awards either the Free Spins feature or one of three Charge Up upgrades. These upgrades carry over per bet level and are activated when Free Spins are eventually triggered at that same stake.

You can also trigger the Free Spins Bonus by landing 3+ Scatter symbols in view, and when you do, you’ll receive five free games. During the bonus round, a variety of new modifiers come into play. Added Wilds can see up to 3 random Wilds added to the reels on each spin, Contagious Wilds allows certain symbols next to a Wild to transform into Wilds, and lastly, win multipliers of 2x, 3x, or 5x can be applied to wins.
