Slot Overview

Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms is a branded Blueprint Gaming release that is the first of the studio’s eagerly anticipated Game of Thrones series. The slot builds on a Money Collect-style framework, and you’ll find Collect symbols, cash-prize coins, and a progression system that unlocks stronger “house” upgrades as you play. With a maximum win potential of 17,000x, can Blueprint Gaming do one of the most famous TV franchises of all time justice? Let’s find out.

Gameplay & Bonus Features

Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms is played on a 6-reel, 4-row layout with a ways-to-win system offering up to 4,096 ways on each spin. You can bet between €0.10 and €1,000 per spin, and the game offers an RTP of 93%.

Now, Collect and Cash Prize symbols can land on reels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, and Cash Prizes display instant win values and Mini, Minor, Major, and Mega Jackpots. The Cash Prizes are worth between 0.5x and 2,500x. Any Cash Prizes that land are collected when a Collector symbol also lands.

The game starts with the Night’s Watch Collect active on reels 1 and 6, and when a Cash Prize and a Collect land together, the Collect expands to cover its reel and gathers everything in view. From there, you can permanently unlock stronger Collect types as you play, and this progression is really the heart of the game. Stark Collect holds prizes in place while new symbols drop in; Baratheon Collect triggers respins on cash prize reels, Lannister Collect increases cash prize values by up to 5x before collecting them, and Targaryen Collect collects first, then respins, up to 5 times.

The Longclaw symbol is another one to watch out for. When it lands alongside any Collect, a sword drops onto the reel and awards either an instant cash prize worth 5x-1,000x your stake or a Super Bonus, which fast-tracks you through the bonus map, awarding all upgrades collected along the way.

There’s also a chest mechanic running in the background, and any cash prizes that aren’t collected feed into it, and if it triggers, you’re awarded one of five modifiers:

  • Bonus Blaze: Adds extra bonus symbols in the base game.
  • Dragon Fire: Guarantees a win.
  • Dragon Inferno: Guarantees full reels of cash on one or more reel.
  • Dragon Blast: Swaps to a new symbol set to form a win.
  • Dragon Fury: Adds Cash Prize symbols and pays them.

The main bonus is the Iron Throne Spins, triggered by landing 3+ Scatter symbols. Doing so awards 10 free games, and during the feature, all your unlocked Collect features remain active. Collect symbols also add up throughout the feature, and hitting certain thresholds rewards you with extra spins and multipliers, 3 Collects gives +5 spins and a 2x multiplier, all the way up to 12 Collects for +5 spins and a massive 10x multiplier!

Now, once you land a Targaryen Collect win, the Bonus Map unlocks, too. Any time you land 2 bonus symbols in the base game, you move up along the map trail. This allows you to collect coins at different checkpoints and “bank” up to 7 upgrades, which all activate the next time you trigger the feature.

Theme & Design

If you like Game of Thrones, then Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms probably won’t disappoint you, even if the game is a little dated in design. You’ll see the reels set in dark stone corridors, with house banners and various icons/theme-specific symbols doing most of the heavy design work here.

The reel set mixes character images with premium coin-style cash prizes and “Game of Thrones” logo tiles, and the game’s audio and sound effects include clips from the game, so it’s very immersive. It will be interesting to see how it does compared to Microgaming’s original Game of Thrones slot.

Pros

  • Massive maximum win potential of 17,000x.
  • Strong progression mechanics with unlockable events.
  • The theme is, for many players, “perfect”.

Cons

  • The 93% RTP is quite low.
  • There are a lot of bonuses and features, and it can take time to understand.
  • For some players, it probably won’t beat the original GOT slot.

Final Thoughts

Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms is clearly a big moment for Blueprint Gaming. They will have done a LOT of work (and likely spent a lot of money) to acquire the rights to use the GOT franchise, and with the news that they’ll be rolling out multiple GOT games in 2026, it’s probably a nervous time in the development offices hoping that they perform!

Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms isn’t perfect, but it’s a solid slot. We like the fact that it includes a progression-based mechanic, and we also like how the Collect system evolves; it starts simple and then unlocks increasingly powerful modifiers (houses) that fundamentally change the way in which the game plays.

Volatility-wise, it’s designed to swing, we feel, too. You can land some small-to-medium-sized Collects in the base game quite a lot, but the real win potential lies in the Iron Throne Spins, especially with map upgrades like Cash Boost, Trail Boost or Super Collect running at the same time.

Yes, the 93% RTP is low and a little disappointing, but it’s somewhat made up for by the 17,000x maximum win potential and, of course, the theme, which, let’s be honest, rocks!
