Game Overview
Casino game provider Pragmatic Play is taking us back to Mount Olympus with Fortune of Olympus, a cluster-pays slot that’s very similar to Gates of Olympus. This time, however, Zeus has even more to offer, including cascading reels, larger multipliers, a maximum win potential of up to 10,000x, and more bonus and feature buys than we’ve ever seen!
Theme & Design
Pragmatic Play knows Olympus like the back of their hand, and we’ve seen some of their most successful releases in history centered around the ancient Greek city! From the original Gates of Olympus to sequels like Gates of Olympus Xmas 1000, this genre of games has proven to be a major success for the provider, and it’s hardly surprising to see them releasing even more spin-offs.
Fortune of Olympus looks instantly recognisable, and you’ll see Zeus himself sitting on a red and gold throne to the right-hand side of the reels. The grid, larger than before, is situated in the middle of the screen, and below it, you’ll see a sea of gold coins, making the game quite majestic-looking!

Fortune of Olympus Gameplay & Bonus Features
Fortune of Olympus uses a 7×7 cluster-pays grid. Wins are formed by connecting vertical or horizontal clusters of 5+ symbols. Winning clusters disappear via the tumble mechanic, and this allows new symbols to drop in and take their place. You can bet between €0.20 and €240 per spin, and the game’s default RTP sits at 96.55%, though lower configurations exist.
Now, at the core of the game are the multiplier symbols. These can land in the base game and bonus round, and they display values worth between 2x and 500x. Once all tumbles for a spin are complete, the total multiplier value in view is added together and applied to the win.
Landing 4+ scatter symbols triggers the free spins bonus round, and this awards 15 free spins. During the free spins bonus, the slot introduces a global multiplier meter. Every new multiplier symbol that lands is added to this meter. It does NOT reset between spins. Now, unlike some previous instalments in the series, each subsequent win benefits from the global multiplier, even if no new multiplier symbol lands in view.
You can also re-trigger the feature and win an additional 15-30 spins by landing 4+ scatter symbols anywhere in view during the feature.
Bonus Buy / Ante Bet
Pragmatic Play has also loaded Fortune of Olympus with various special bets and Super Spin options. This includes:
- Ante Bet 1: Costs 2x your stake and makes it 5x more likely that you’ll trigger the free spins bonus round.
- Ante Bet 2: Costs 7.5x your bet and makes it 5x more likely that you’ll trigger the free spins bonus round and guarantees a minimum multiplier value of 5x.
- Super Spin 1: Costs 10x your stake and guarantees one multiplier symbol.
- Super Spin 2: Costs 250x your bet and guarantees one multiplier symbol worth at least 50x per spin.
- Free Spins: Costs 100x your bet to trigger the standard free spins bonus.
- Super Free Spins: Costs 500x your bet and triggers the Super Free Spins bonus round, with guaranteed 5x+ multiplier symbols.
Pros
- Win up to 10,000x.
- Multiple ante bet and feature buy options.
- The unique cluster pays twist compared to the scatter pays original mechanic.
Cons
- Can’t trigger the Super Free Spins bonus round naturally.
- Very familiar theme and mechanics.
- Bonus Buy/Special Bets are unavailable to players in some countries.
Fortune of Olympus Slot Review Final Thoughts
Fortune of Olympus doesn’t reinvent the whole “Gates of” format, but that’s not really the point. We actually like how Pragmatic Play has tried to keep the theme intact while refining the in-game mechanics; the cluster pays system, for example, instead of the scatter pays-anywhere mechanic that we’re used to, is a risky move but works well in our opinion.
We also like the fact that the maximum win potential is 10,000x, which is higher than some previous releases, which were capped at 5,000x. It’s a good-looking game, and our only real complaint would be the fact that the Super Free Spins bonus can’t trigger naturally; you have to buy it, and it’s expensive, at 500x!
Still, it’s a pretty solid release and one of the rare occasions where a sequel or spin-off is as good as, or even better than, the original, in our eyes.

I liked the multipliers that accumulate even without bonus earnings.
I like this game, it looks like the multipliers save and you don’t have to wait for lightning to activate the multiples so it’s kind of fun too
