Game Overview

Seriously, if I had a Euro for every fruit-based online slot I have played during the previous decade, I would be a wealthy man right now. Sometimes these games appear to use fruits as their theme simply out of laziness, but other times – such as in the case of Fortune Five Double by Gamebeat – I can’t help but wonder why the developers didn’t put a little more thought or effort into the theme of their new game. Whilst the symbols may look instantly familiar in Fortune Five Double, there is plenty of unique and original content here to separate the game from other online slots. There are just five pay lines, the RTP is 96.11%, and the maximum win is probably the 1,000x jackpot, although Gamebeat does not specify this explicitly.

With just five pay lines, it’s not surprising to see big payouts attached to most of the symbols in the Fortune 5 Double online slot. The jackpot feature is triggered when three, four, or five Lucky Seven symbols line up on a payline starting from the left-hand side of the screen and can award between 20x and 1,000x your bet depending on how many symbols make up the winning combination.

If you fancy giving Fortune 5 Double a try for yourself, why not fire up our free demo slot of the game below? Our game plays just like the real money version, except that it doesn’t cost you anything to play! Of course, you can’t win real money either, though… that’s just life, I’m afraid!

Fortune Five Double Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Fortune Five Double Slot

Whilst fruit-themed online slots are a dime a dozen at every online casino on the web, Gamebeat’s Fortune Five Double immediately stands out because of the multipliers that appear randomly on, I believe, every one of the symbols that are included in the game. Despite the fact there must be several dozen fruits that exist around the world, fruit machines always seem to have the same handful of symbols: watermelons, grapes, plums, oranges, lemons, and cherries make up the fruit-based symbols here, whilst a star is also included as a scatter symbol but does not trigger any kind of bonus round no matter how many of them you could get be fortunate enough to hit simultaneously. I prefer the slots I play to have at least one bonus round to break up the regular base game. Still, I have realised that not all players feel the same way I do. According to reliable statistics regarding the most popular online slots, Starburst by NetEnt has consistently been the highest grossing game on the web for several of the past 5 years. As that game has no bonus round whatsoever, I have to conclude that there is a large subsection of slots players who prefer to see the majority of the RTP in the games they play being allocated to the combinations that can be hit during regular play.

As for Fortune 5 Double, the highest-paying combination on the paytable is awarded for hitting five scatter symbols, which returns 50x your total stake. As far as the payline-orientated combinations, hitting five melons will pay you 30x your current bet, as will five bundles of grapes. The plums, oranges, lemons, and cherries all return 20x your stake for five-of-a-kind. There are no lower-paying symbols after this on the entire paytable, so I can understand the attraction of skipping any type of special features when all regular wins share these higher than average returns. Aside from this, the Lucky Seven symbol will pay you 20x your bet for three on a payline, 200x for four on a line, and a whopping 1,000x for a complete line of five-of-a-kind. Many symbols also have a 2x multiplier overlay, but sadly these are not added or multiplied together if more than one should appear as part of a single winning payline.

There are ten options for choosing your wager; the minimum bet per spin is set at €0.10, while the maximum is capped at €50.00. As with most other Gamebeat slots, the options available are clustered towards the lower end of this range; you have five options between €0.10 and €1.00, after which the gaps widen dramatically.

Base Game & Modifiers

Play With 5 Reels, 5 Paylines, And Win Up To 1,000x Your Bet In Fortune Five Double Online Slot From Provider Gamebeat

The basic gameplay of Fortune Five Double is about as straightforward as it gets for a five-reel online slot; a five-by-three playfield featuring just five pay lines spread across the most obvious paths from left to right and wins being awarded for hitting three or more matching symbols on any of those paylines.

That’s not to say that the game is bad. However, the limited number of symbols makes for much more frequent winning lines than you might expect, considering the low number of pay lines, and the 2x multiplier symbols appear very often too.

Win Multiplier Symbols

About those win multiplier symbols, these overlays can appear on top of any regular symbol and will double the payout for any winning combination they form a part of. Unfortunately, they do not add together or multiply one another should more than one form part of a winning line, but considering how often they appear, this didn’t bother me as much as it could have.

Fortune Five Double Slot Bonus Feature

Multiplier Overlays Can Appear On All Symbols Whilst Playing Fortune Five Double Video Slot

What may be more of a deal-breaker for some players is the lack of a free spins feature or any other kind of real bonus round. As I mentioned during the paytable section of the review, the trade-off for missing out on such a feature is that all of the RTP available for prizes is allocated to base game combinations – you don’t need to hit any scatter symbols or otherwise “buy” your way to the biggest wins when playing Fortune Five Double – all of the best prizes are available at all times and can be won any time you press the spin button.

Jackpots

The one exception to this simplicity comes from the three jackpot prizes, which are still awarded in return for hitting a regular pay line combination but work slightly differently from everything else on the paytable.

The Lucky Seven symbol triggers these jackpot payouts, paying 20x your bet for three on a payline, 200x for four, or 1,000x for a complete line of five-of-a-kind. As you might expect, the Lucky Seven symbol does appear far less frequently than everything else on the paytable, and I never hit even three of them during my game testing. I’m sure the odds of hitting a full line of five aren’t too enormous, however!

Fortune Five Double Slot Review Final Thoughts

This is a simple game, but the presentation is immaculate. I found that reasonable-sized wins occurred with sufficient frequency that my balance barely moved during the time I tested the slot for this review. That could be seen as both a good and a bad thing; I didn’t lose much, but I didn’t win a great deal either. I enjoy games with lower than average numbers of pay lines, but I’d have liked to see a little more in the way of features in Fortune Five Double. I know there is an audience for this type of slot, so if you think that might include you, give it a try!
