Game Overview
Gather your fishing gear and dress warm, because Relax Gaming’s Fisherman Slam takes you to the snowy lakes of Alaska! Cast your rod and try to reel in big fish for the chance to win up to 5,000x your bet!
Theme & Design
Relax Gaming has generally steered fairly clear of copying “slot trends” like Book of Dead or Big Bass Bonanza. However, before long, pretty much every major software provider is forced into producing some kind of fish-inspired game, and Fisherman Slam is Relax Gaming’s new offering!
Now, in keeping with Relax Gaming style, Fisherman Slam isn’t the most creative-looking game, and the reels are positioned underwater, with some swaying coral shown on either side of the reels. At the top of the screen there’s a bearded fisherman in front of an Alaskan landscape, and it looks OK, but not great.

Fisherman Slam Gameplay & Features
Fisherman Slam is played on a 6×5 grid, and it uses a scatter pays mechanic. This means wins can be formed anywhere, provided enough symbols land on the screen. Landing 7+ symbols secures a win, and there’s a cascading reels feature, too, which sees winning symbols removed, and new ones dropping down to take their place.
You can play Fisherman Slam for between €0.20 and €200 per spin, and the game boasts an RTP of 96.10% (when the Mega Bet is active.)
There is a pretty healthy selection of bonuses and features in the game, and first is the Tackle Box Respin mechanic. Landing five or more tackle boxes anywhere in view triggers this feature, and you then get a re-spin. Landing any additional tackle boxes in view locks them in place too and awards another re-spin, which continues until you either fill the grid or land no new tackle boxes.
Next are the multiplier symbols. These can land on all reels (in the base game and bonus round). When any winning sequences have finished, the values of all multipliers are added together and applied against your total win amount.
Finally, there’s the main free spins bonus round. This is triggered by landing 3+ scatter symbols in view, and doing so awards 12 free spins. During the bonus, the multiplier does not reset between spins. You can re-trigger an additional five free spins by landing another 3+ scatter symbols in view.
Bonus Buy & Mega Bet
Like many Relax Gaming slots today, Fisherman Slam contains a bonus buy, allowing you to buy direct entry into the bonus round for 50. There’s also a Mega Bet side bet option which increases your base game stake by 50% for a 2.5x chance to trigger the free spins.
Pros
- Win up to 5,000x your bet.
- Players can skip the base game via the bonus buy option.
- Nice base game respin feature.
Cons
- Not the best design.
- Low variance free spins round.
Fisherman Slam Slot Review Final Thoughts
Relax Gaming has done a pretty good job in recent years with slots, and their titles have, generally, received quite high marks from us here at DemoSlot. Fisherman Slam is an OK game for us; it looks alright, the bonuses and features are alright, and the win potential is alright, but as you’ll see, it’s pretty similar to Pragmatic Play's Sweet Bonanza, just with a base game re-spin mechanic added on and a lower maximum win potential.
So, if you’re a diehard Relax Gaming fan, you may well enjoy it, but if you’ve been playing slots online for a while, you may find the game a bit boring and unoriginal.
