So, when I saw the Fish and Bird slot from Elk Studios, my interest was instantly piqued, especially as at first glance this looks to be something different from the standard releases we tend to see in this slot classification. Theme & Design

Elk Studios is a game developer that is hot on graphics, and whilst previous releases like Pirots 4 take on a modern-day approach with regard to design, Fish and Bird has more of an old-style cartoon feel, and to be honest, it reminded me a bit of how Peter & Sons slot games tend to look.

Elk has done a fantastic job, though, in the overall production of the game, and granted, Fish and Bird might not follow what you’ll have seen from the developer in the past, but it’s been superbly executed and doesn’t go over the top, making the design too intricate; it’s just simplicity perfected from a provider at the top of their game.

Fish and Bird Gameplay & Features

Fish and Bird is a 4-reel, 4-row game that has no paylines, instead operating on the collector pays mechanic, offering players an RTP of 94%. Standard bets can be placed from a minimum of €0.20 a spin up to a maximum of €100.

I mentioned the collector mechanic, and this feature comes into play over the main reels of the game, where a fisherman can be seen sailing across the playfield. If he is above a reel that contains a monetary fish value, he will cast his fishing line out and reel in the win. In addition to collecting fish, he will also use his net to collect bird multipliers that appear above him in the sky. Furthermore, a super collector can appear, who will cast his net out to collect everything in view on the reels, whilst a diver collector may also randomly trigger, diving down to collect any values on the reel where he lands.

The game comes with a standard and super bonus free spins. During both rounds, multiple collectors can appear above the reels, with the bonus ending when no more sail into view. During this round the likelihood of supersized symbols appearing on the playfield increases, giving you the potential to hit big wins.
