Game Overview
If you were assigned the task of bringing down a fire-breathing dragon that lived in a less than hospitable environment, do you think you’d be up to the task? Well, now you’re going to get your chance to show what you’re made of, as game provider Slotmill has an epic adventure for you to experience in their Emberfall 40K slot, a 6-reel scatter pays slot with an ascending multiplier, and a maximum win of 40,000x
Theme & Design
It’s rare that I’ve come across a Slotmill release that hasn’t been expertly designed, and that is again the case in Emberfall 40K, where the studio has you ready to fight for your life in a volcanic and fiery landscape. I guess on the face of it, you could say this is a relatively simple theme to pull off, but the graphics are of the highest quality, and I liked the attention to detail, especially the animation of the smoke pouring off the lava, so top marks to Slotmill here.
Okay, let’s give you some similar game suggestions before we move on, and I’ll start with the original slot in this series, Emberfall, which is pretty much the same game as today’s review, but with a smaller max win, so go check that out if the volatility of Emberfall 40K proves to be too much for you. Finally, if you’d prefer a much friendlier dragon during your spin time, the PG slot demo of Fortune Dragon is a popular title here on our platform and worth a look when you get a chance.

Emberfall 40K Gameplay & Features
Slotmill’s Emberfall 40K is a 6-reel, 6-row online slot operating on the scatter pays engine with an RTP of 96.09%. Staking options on the game offer comprehensive coverage, starting at a minimum of €0.20 per spin up to a maximum of €50.
Like most scatter pays games, Emberfall 40K is a tumbling reels game, with winning symbols being removed from the reels and replaced with new ones, giving you more chances to win. Additionally, each successful reel cascade will see you move up one position up the ascending win multiplier, with its value then being applied to the next win you create.
Onto the free spins bonuses now, and there are two variations that you can trigger. These are:
- Standard Free Spins: Triggered by 3 bonus scatters landing in view. During this feature, the win multiplier does not reset between losing spins, and there is also a chance giant symbols up to 4×4 can land at the beginning or end of each spin.
- Super Free Spins: Triggered by 2 standard scatters and 1 super scatter landing in view. This feature keeps the same mechanics as the standard free spins, but you are guaranteed a giant symbol on every spin.
Bonus Buy
Emberfall 40K features a number of enhanced bet and feature buy options. These are:
- Extra Bet: 2.7 times more likely to trigger a bonus – Costs 1.5x the base bet.
- Multiplier Boost: Costs 40x the base bet.
- Standard Bonus Buy: Costs 100x the base bet.
- Super Bonus Buy: Costs 500x the base bet.
- Super Mode Super Free Spins: Costs 1,000x the base bet.
Pros
- An increased max win, which is now 40,000x.
- Lots of bonus buy and enhanced betting options.
- The win multiplier can reach huge values.
Cons
- Below-average RTP.
- Like most games in this style, when the multiplier gets big, the wins disappear.
- Just a remake with a bigger max win.
Emberfall 40K Slot Review Final Thoughts
I can only think that the original Emberfall has been a huge success for Slotmill, which would explain why they have created a newer version with some tweaks and, of course, a max win that has increased from 15,000x up to 40,000x.
This will no doubt resonate with many players, especially those in the Slotmill fanbase, but I always find these games a bit frustrating when the multiplier gets high and the wins then proceed to fall off the face of the earth. Maybe Emberfall 40K will be different? Hmmm, who am I kidding?
