Theme & Design

El Capy takes place deep in the Amazon rainforest, with lush greenery and reflective blue water forming the base of the background. The design is slightly cartoonish in nature, and while it doesn’t necessarily look bad, it’s certainly not the best we’ve seen from Quickspin. It’s polished, sure, but we can’t help but feel it lacks personality.

This is especially apparent when comparing it to some of Quickspin’s more recent releases like Cash Truck Begins and Sakura Fortune Epic Bloom, where the software provider really went all out with the graphics and presentation.

El Capy Gameplay & Features

El Capy plays on a five-reel, three-row layout, and, unusually, there are just five active paylines, with the game paying from left to right. Again, unusually, is the fact that you’re able to bet as little as €0.02 and as much as €1,000 per spin – so Quickspin really are doing their best to make the game accessible for players on every budget. The game is available in multiple RTP settings, with the highest (and default) sitting at 96.15%.

Now, the first thing you’ll notice in the base game is that there are no wild symbols or modifiers, something that makes the basic gameplay a little…boring. The capybara himself is the key to unlocking the only feature in the game: the El Capy Collect Game.

Landing 3 or more El Capy symbols triggers this feature. Once activated, all other symbols are cleared, and only Capy symbols remain. You’ll then receive a number of respins, and every new Capy symbol that lands adds to the collection meter.

Once the re-spins finish, your payout varies depending on the number of Capy symbols you managed to collect. Landing a full screen awards 1,000x. Now, there’s also a Feature Buy option that costs 50x your base game stake.

Feature Buy & Extra Bet

There’s also a Feature Buy option costing 50x your stake. Buying it guarantees entry into the Collect Game and applies a random multiplier of x2, x3, or x5 to your final win. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get anywhere near the game’s advertised maximum win potential of 5,010x.
