Slot Overview
DJ Boom Boom is a music-themed slot from Fa Chai Gaming, and it combines a healthy selection of bonuses and features, including cascades, expanding reels, increasing multipliers, and a superb maximum win potential of up to 50,000x! Does DJ Boom Boom really drop the bass hard, though, or is it more style than substance? Find out in this comprehensive review.
Theme & Design
DJ Boom Boom fully embraces its nightclub theme, and you’ll see the reels in neon purples and electric blues, along with a dancing penguin at the bottom of the screen; DJ Boom Boom, we presume!
DJ Boom Boom is quite an interesting game, and it’s a far cry from the type of games we’ve seen from Fa Chai Gaming in the past. Sure, some of their games like Da Le Men and Panda Dragon Boat have been OK, but none have offered the complexity (or win potential) that DJ Boom Boom boasts!

DJ Boom Boom Gameplay & Bonus Features
DJ Boom Boom uses a six-reel layout with a 3-4-5-5-4-3 structure, and this offers 3,600 ways to win on every spin. Wins are formed by matching adjacent symbols from left to right. Every winning combo triggers a cascade, where winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in from above. You can bet between €0.2 and €1,000, although, unfortunately, Fa Chai Gaming has not publicly revealed the RTP.
Now, the first special symbol to be aware of is the Golden Symbol, which can only appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5. Golden Symbols are treated the same as regular symbols for the purposes of forming wins. However, when a Golden Symbol is eliminated as part of a winning combination, it transforms into a Wild in the same position, turns the symbol position Gold, and randomly assigns a multiplier value of up to 100x.
When a multiplier appears, it’s collected during the next win and then applied to the total for all cascades that spin. Multipliers that are part of a win also increase by +1 after they’ve contributed to a win.
The game’s main Free Spins Bonus is triggered when three or more Scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels, awarding 10 free games. During free games, any active multiplier Wilds stay locked on the reels until the feature ends. You can re-trigger the feature, too, with up to 50 free games available in total. Depending on the number of Scatter symbols you triggered the feature with, you can begin with as many as 6 Golden Frames!
Buy Feature
DJ Boom Boom contains four different Bonus Buy options, all of which award you 10 Free Spins. For 50x you can buy the Free Spins with 3x Golden Frames, for 60x you can buy the Free Spins with 4x Golden Frames, and for 75x and 100x you can buy the Free Spins with 5x/6x Golden Frames, respectively.
Pros
- Huge 50,000x maximum win potential.
- Golden Symbol/Multiplier mechanics are pretty entertaining.
- 4 Bonus Buy options available.
Cons
- RTP isn’t publicly disclosed.
- Bonus Buy options are unavailable in some regions.
- Fa Chai Gaming’s slots can be hard to find online.
DJ Boom Boom Slot Review Final Thoughts
DJ Boom Boom is a pretty interesting release from Fa Chai Gaming, and we’re pleased to see the software provider moving away from their low-variance, low-quality roots that plagued them for quite some time! DJ Boom Boom is a pretty decent-looking game, although first, we should address the elephant in the room.
Yes, DJ Boom Boom is VERY similar to Pragmatic Play’s Vampy Party slot, and while there are some differences, it’s clear that Fa Chai Gaming has been quite heavily inspired by the game. Still, that’s not inherently a bad thing, and ‘borrowing’ concepts from other studios is a pretty common thing these days.
Still, it’s something we have to point out, although Fa Chai Gaming has managed to put its own spin on things. Firstly, the fact that the maximum win potential is 50,000x (compared to Pragmatic Play's 5,000x) is a definite plus, and we also like that you can use the Bonus Buy to start the feature with a varying number of Golden Frames.
DJ Boom Boom is also a good looking game, albeit not too different from Vampy Party - but again, this isn’t a huge issue. We’d like to see the game developer publishing the slot’s RTP information, but aside from this, we’re impressed - and like what we see!
