Slot Overview

Digging for Wilds is a new Red Tiger release, and this highly volatile slot offers a maximum win potential of 20,196x your bet! Played on a 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways to win, there’s a lot going on, from Dynamite Wilds, Gem Wild Explosions, and Free Spins, and you can learn all about it here in the Demoslot review.

Theme & Design

Digging for Wilds is set deep underground in a narrow mining tunnel, where rattling tracks and rolling carts create a constant sense of motion. This is something we’ve seen from Red Tiger before, in games like Pirates Plenty Megaways, and while it won’t suit all players, it’s definitely quite a cool-looking effect!

It’s a high-quality-looking slot, too, although that’s to be expected from Red Tiger. The reels are set deep within a mine, and you’ll see dimly lit oil lamps on either side of the reels and an extra top row at the top, where things like TNT symbols can appear. If you’re the type of player who enjoys slots like Gold Mine Mystery, then this will likely be up your street!

Digging For Wilds Gameplay & Bonus Features

Digging for Wilds uses 6 reels, 4 rows, and 4,096 ways to win. Wins are formed by matching 3+ symbols from left to right. You can bet from €0.10 to €20 per spin, and the game carries an RTP of 96.04%.

Digging for Wilds contains two types of Wilds, with the core one being the Dynamite Wild, which can land on reels 2-5. When this lands, it can trigger extra modifiers when paired with mine-cart items above. This can include Dynamite Wild Multiplier, Coin, Detonator, or other modifiers.

Now, the game also revolves around a three-stage progression system: Silver, Gold, and Diamond. When you begin playing, you begin in Silver, and you unlock new stages by triggering Free Spins bonuses. Each level changes how Dynamite Wilds explode, and the possible multipliers also increase; this means the volatility profile changes with each level, too.

At the Silver level, you can Vertical Gem Wild explosions and  multipliers of up to 8x; at the Gold level, you get Horizontal Gem Wild explosions and multipliers of up to 20x, and at the Diamond level, you get X-Shaped Gem Wild explosions and multipliers of up to 50x. You can, if you choose, play at lower levels too, once you unlock higher tiers.

Now, the game’s core features are:

  • Dynamite Wild & Detonator: When a detonator cart lands above a Dynamite Wild, it explodes to create Gem Wilds based on the current level.
  • Gem Wilds: Created only through explosions and substitute for all paying symbols.
  • Coin Feature: Dynamite Wilds generate cash prizes between 0.5x and 10x your bet.
  • Special Prizes: These are instant win prizes, worth between 5x, and a whopping 20,000x!
  • Dynamite Wild Multiplier: Applies powerful multipliers to all wins involving that Wild.

Finally, there’s a Free Spins feature, triggered by landing Scatter symbols on reels 1 and 6. Doing so awards 10 Free Spins, and every spin here guarantees at least one Dynamite Wild. All minecarts carry items, too.

Digging For Wilds Slot Review Final Thoughts

Digging for Wilds is another reminder that Red Tiger Gaming continues to lead the online gambling world in terms of slots design. Their games are pretty much unmatched, visually, with Print Studios being possibly the closest studio we can think of that even comes close.

Digging for Wilds looks great, and yes, the constant motion-inspired graphics may be a little much for some, but for us, it looks good, and it works really well with the layers of bonuses and features, too. We like the constant interaction between Dynamite Wilds, mine carts, and progression levels, and it’s also cool that you can choose to play at lower levels once higher ones are unlocked, too, if you prefer.

Now, don’t get us wrong; the volatility does get noticeably higher when you move from Silver to Diamond, but with that comes better chances to hit big wins, and with a solid maximum win potential of 20,196x, Digging for Wilds is a game we’ll likely try out for ourselves once it’s live!
