Relax Gaming’s Digger’s Dough is a 5-reel, 3-row slot game utilising the scatter pays mechanic, with wins awarded when 4 or more matching symbols appear anywhere within the playfield. The game comes with a disappointingly low RTP of 94%, whilst betting options start from a low-roller-friendly €0.10 a spin, reaching a maximum of €100.

Block symbols play a huge part in the game and need to be activated during play. Horizontal destroyers activate and destroy all blocks in the same row, vertical destroyers activate and destroy all blocks and paying symbols in the same column; and diagonal destroyers activate and destroy blocks and paying symbols in their four corners.

Bonus Blocks increase the free spin counter by the number displayed on the block. Multiplier blocks add their value to the total multiplier counter, which starts at x0 and multiplies subsequent wins when larger than x0. Possible multiplier values are 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 50x, 100x and 500x.

Red Gem Blocks destroy all red-class symbols on the reels, with only the same kind of symbols dropping in the following cascade. Blue gem blocks destroy all blue-class symbols, with only the same kind dropping after. Green gem blocks destroy all green-class symbols, with only the same kind dropping in the next cascade.

Destroy All Paying Symbols Feature

If you destroy all paying symbols in the same cascade, all paying symbols in the following cascade will be the same kind. Even if you trigger this feature by combining multiple effects, it only applies to the next cascade. Landing a full screen of the same symbol as a result of this feature clears all paying symbols again but won’t create an infinite loop of same-symbol cascades.

Destroy All Blocks Feature

If you destroy all block symbols in the same cascade, only multiplier, bonus and gem blocks will appear for the rest of the game round.

Free Spins

Free spins trigger when you activate 3 or more bonus blocks in the same game round. The number of free spins awarded is the sum of all numbers on the activated bonus blocks. For example, activating three bonus symbols with values 1, 1 and 3 awards 5 free spins.

The total multiplier value from the triggering spin carries over to free spins and doesn’t reset between game rounds during the feature. During Free Spins, any activated Bonus Block increases the Free Spins counter.

Super Free Spins

Every time you trigger free spins, there’s a chance you’ll play a super free spin instead. During Super Free Spins, only multiplier, bonus, and gem symbols can land in the block area.

Theme & Design

Digger’s Dough, unsurprisingly given its name, uses a mining theme, and despite this not being a premium release by Relax Gaming, it’s still a relatively nice-looking game that has been well developed by the studio, featuring clear and crisp graphics throughout.

It’s fair to say that this title isn’t in the same league as the likes of Fire in the Hole 2 or Misery Mining with regard to its design, but it’s a tidy addition to the mining slot genre overall and generally looks and performs well over all devices.
