Devils Trap Demo SlotStakelogic SlotsSlot Demo & Review

Halloween is just around the corner, and experienced slots developers Stakelogic look to be getting in the mood early with the release of their new Devil’s Trap online slot. This is 20 fixed payline game with a definitively spooky feel to it. Still, there certainly isn’t anything to fear regarding the rest of the vital statistics – a 96.26% RTP and a maximum winning cap of 50,000x the current bet should be more than sufficient to tempt even the highest of high variance players into giving this machine a try.

There are several bonus features, beginning with the pumpkin-faced scatter symbols which will award a cash prize of up to 100x your bet and a 12 free spin bonus round. Those bonus rounds are my favourite kind – the kind that comes with both sticky wilds and multiplier wild symbols, and you can even win an additional five free spins by landing one of these symbols on all five reels – does that sound familiar? Interestingly, a bonus buy feature has also been included, allowing you to test out all the free spin modes quickly if permitted within your jurisdiction.

I imagine many people will be eager to try this game, and if that includes you, then as ever, we have good news – our free demo slot of Devil’s Trap is available below for your enjoyment.

Paytable For The Devils Trap Slot

There sure is some spooky imagery on show here – Halloween is one of the most popular special nights of the year on both sides of the Atlantic, so it’s no surprise that we have seen dozens if not hundreds of games inspired by the night during the past two decades. Some of the best-known examples of the genre might be Playtech’s Halloween Fortune franchise, the Halloween Jack variant of NetEnt’s ever-popular Jack and the Beanstalk online slot, or maybe even Inspired’s Reel King Spooky Megaways game. Whichever Halloween game is your favourite, I’d wager that Stakelogic’s new entry here could be enough to give them all a run for their money. The question is, will you agree?

If my earlier synopsis of the bonus round didn’t grab your attention, perhaps the numbers on the paytable will. At the top of the list, we have a black crow with a return of 100x your bet for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind, followed by a grotesque-looking green hand, complete with teeth, which has a payout of 50x your bet for all five of those. A snake in a teacup – yes, you did read that correctly – will pay you 20x your bet for a completed combination of those, whilst the skull-faced spider completes the higher-paying line-up with a return of 10x for all five. Each of the five royal symbols is contained in a potion bottle, which does at least make them look a little interesting, even if their payouts of 1x and below are not!

The betting range runs from €0.20 per spin at the lower end of the range, maxing out at a high roller friendly €100.00 per round at the other.

Base Game & Modifiers

Win Up To 50,000x Your Bet Playing The Devils Trap Online Slot From Game Provider Stakelogic

The base game utilises a standard-sized 5×3 playfield, which is a sensible fit for the 20 fixed paylines. All winning combinations require at least three-matching symbols, either on a pay line in the case of the regular symbols or anywhere on the screen for the pumpkin scatters.

Sadly, there are no base game features to speak of, but this is not surprising when you factor in all the features crammed into the main bonus round. On that note, let’s dive into that right away!

Devils Trap Slot Bonus Features

Trigger The Free Spins Feature On The Devils Trap Video Slot By Landing 3 Or More Scatters In View

The main bonus round is triggered any time three or more scatter symbols land on the reels during the base game. There is a cash payout of 5x, 15x, or 100x your bet for hitting three, four, or five scatters, respectively, whilst all three combinations also award a 12 free spin bonus round.

During this mode, you will notice a multiplier wheel on the right hand side of the screen – this will multiply the value of your winnings from the current spin if it lands on one of the standard multiplier values but can also boost the value of your bonus round by adding one of the following additional features:

  • Random Wilds – a random number of wild symbols will be added to the reels for the current spin only. The paytable suggests that this can be up to ten wild symbols. However, I never saw more than four when I was testing the game.
  • Nudge – one reel will be nudged into a more valuable position, guaranteeing you a win from the current spin. In my experience, this feature usually pulls a full stack of wilds into view somewhere on the screen.
  • Super Multiplier – A large-sized multiplier wheel will appear, covering the first two reels. This wheel contains larger multipliers than the regular one on the right of the reel set and also reduces the number of symbols you need to catch to score a big win by acting as a large stacked wild symbol.

As well as these special features, this is also a sticky wilds bonus round. Each regular wild that lands on the reels will remain in place for the duration of the current feature, and if more than one wild lands on each reel, it will also gain a multiplier of between 2x and 4x. Landing a wild on all five reels during a single bonus round will add five more free spins to your remaining counter, just as in NetEnt’s Dead or Alive slot machines.

Bonus Buy Feature

You have three options in this mode, none of which are available by playing the game organically; ten free spins will cost you 100x the regular bet, whilst 15 will cost 250x, and the maximum of 20 free spins costs a whopping 500x the regular stake.

I feel these should be quite fair prices when you factor in that this is a sticky wilds bonus round, but nevertheless, they are still very high prices. Use this option sparingly and with caution, and everything should be okay!

Devils Trap Slot Review Final Thoughts

This is one of my favourite Stakelogic games of the year so far and easily one of my favourite Halloween slot machines as well. Fans of Dead or Alive can’t really afford to miss this one – track it down and give it some spins as soon as you can!
