Slot Overview
Desert Wealth is an Egyptian-themed slot from EGT. The action unfolds on a 6×5 grid layout. Inside, you’ll find Toppling Reels, increasing Multipliers worth up to 100x, a Free Spins bonus, re-triggers, a Bonus Buy, and Clover Chance progressive jackpots. There’s a lot going on here, so is it any good? Let’s find out.
Gameplay & Bonus Features
Desert Wealth plays on a 6×5 grid with a scatter pays mechanic, and this means wins are formed by landing 8+ of the same symbols anywhere in view. The game’s RTP sits at 96.60%, and you can spin from €0.20 to €2,000 per spin. Now, the first feature is cascading reels, and after any win, the symbols involved in the win disappear from the screen, and new ones drop down to take their place.
Free spins are triggered by landing four, five, or six Pyramid scatter symbols, and doing so awards ten free spins. During the feature, up to ten Medallion multiplier symbols, with a value from 2x to 100x, can randomly land on the reels, and if more than one appears during a free spin, their values are added up, and the total win for that spin is then multiplied. It’s also possible to re-trigger the feature by landing 3+ scatters in view, which awards +5 free spins.
The game offers a Bonus Buy mechanic, costing 100x your stake, and there’s also a x2 Chance option which increases your stake by 25% and doubles your chances of landing the bonus round naturally.
Finally, Desert Wealth contains EGT’s iconic Clover Chance progressive jackpot mechanic. On any base game spin, the jackpot feature can randomly trigger, and when it does, you’re taken to a mini-game where you need to pick from 15 symbols. Once you reveal three matching symbols, you win the corresponding jackpot!

Theme & Design
Ancient Egypt is one of the most overdone themes in online slots, and Desert Wealth doesn’t do a huge amount to differentiate itself from the thousands of similarly themed games already on the market today. With that being said, the presentation is good, and you’ll see the reels set deep within what looks to be a long-lost temple. Symbols include a mix of low-value royals and theme-specific icons, and above the reels you’ll see the four Clover Chance progressive jackpots.
Pros
- Clover Chance progressive jackpots available
- Solid RTP of 96.60%
- Possible to re-trigger the Free Spins a lot
Cons
- Egyptian theme is very overdone
- Bonus buy unavailable in some regions
- No base game features
Final Thoughts
Desert Wealth is a well-designed cascade slot that does several things right - but first, let’s get the negative out the way: the theme. Today, the Egyptian genre has been done more than probably any other theme in the online gambling world, and while we understand that providers have no choice but to keep up with other studios - meaning they need Egyptian-inspired games of their own - it would still be nice to see a bit more variety.
With that out the way, the rest of Desert Wealth is solid. During our testing, we purchased quite a few Bonus Buys and noticed that re-triggers are quite frequent, and while the maximum win potential isn’t publicly available, it’s clearly possible to hit some really nice wins inside the feature with enough Medallion multipliers.
Not the most revolutionary game in the world, sure, but Desert Wealth is well worth a play, and we’d love to see a spin-off keeping the same mechanics but with a slightly different theme.
