Game Overview
By pure coincidence, lately I’ve been getting into old English history, particularly that of the brutal Henry VIII, whose quest for an heir to his throne was one of the most epic downfalls of a monarch ever recorded. Anyway, why am I bringing up my evening YouTube habits? Well, it’s because the Nolimit City slot Dead Men Walking reminds me of that Tudor period, especially as they loved an execution around that time, Henry included, who went on to behead two of his six wives. Lovely fella, wasn’t he? Ok, back to the review, and Dead Men Walking is a 5-reel game with 17 paylines, a Collect ‘Em All bonus round, and a maximum win of 25,313x the bet
Theme & Design
It’s over to the theme now, and if you ever wondered how torturous and sadistic they were back between the 1400s and 1600s, then Nolimit City are giving you some clues via the symbols on the reels of Dead Men Walking, with a few of these devices being self-explanatory, whilst the others, well, you probably don’t want to know. As for the design, it’s far from being the best quality we’ve seen from NLC, but generally, a poorer effort from them is still on par with the better work produced by smaller studios.
With such an adult-based theme for the slot, there are not too many other developers you could turn to if you wanted something with a similar theme, so we’re going to stick with Nolimit and point you towards a couple of their other hair-raising releases. The first of these is our Mental 2 demo, a gory title, to say the least, whilst the Serial demo is equally as horrifying in parts, so it might be worthwhileleaving the lights on for those.

Dead Men Walking Gameplay & Features
Nolimit City’s Dead Men Walking is a 5-reel, 3-row online slot with 17 paylines and an RTP of 96.20%. The game includes a comprehensive bet selection, with players having the option to stake from a minimum of €0.10 a spin up to a maximum of €200.
Onto the features we go, and for a Nolimit City slot, Dead Men Walking is relatively simple to understand and won’t require you to undergo a three-year course at slot university to understand what’s going on. We’ll start with the three modifiers that sit on top of the reels, and each time their respective scrolls land on the playfield, there is a chance they can trigger, with xWays, Infectious Wild and xSplit being the potential rewards.
The next feature to tell you about is the xNudge Wilds, which are guaranteed to nudge in full reel position every time they land, with each nudge it takes to fill the reel increasing its multiplier value by plus x1. Additionally, these wilds then become walking wilds, increasing in value with each position they move to the left. When they hit the first reel, their value will be transferred to the next nearest walking wild, if there is one on the screen.
Finally, we get to the main bonus rounds. These are:
Dead Man’s Gold
Triggered when 3, 4, or 5 bonus symbols land in view. Bonus Spins starts on a 5×5 reel grid where only coins will land. Spin count remains intact if a coin lands. All coin values are valued as times the active bet. When 3 or more coins align vertically or horizontally, they are collected and are paid out.
Feature coins are triggered only when they are collected. Below are the 4 feature coins that can also land and might get triggered:
- Collector: Collects the value of all active coins.
- Cloner: Copies the highest coin value to all active coins.
- Multiplier: Doubles the value of all visible coins.
- King’s Grace: Resets the bonus spin count to its initial value.
Reapers Gold
3, 4 or 5 Gold Bonus symbols trigger 3, 4 or 5 Reaper’s Gold Bonus Spins, respectively. In addition to features of Dead Man’s Gold, feature coins are triggered as soon as they land.
Bonus Buy
The following options are available for those who want to play with enhanced or bonus buy bets:
- Booster 1: More likely to activate the Dead Man’s Gold bonus – Costs 1.5x the base bet.
- Booster 2: Bonus symbols are upgraded so that Reapers Gold can be triggered – Costs 2.5x the base bet.
- Booster 3: More likely to trigger the Reapers Gold bonus – Costs 5x the base bet.
- Booster 4: Guaranteed that at least 1 walking wild will land – Costs 40x the base bet.
- Dead Man’s Gold Bonus – Costs 100x the base bet.
- Reapers Gold Bonus – Costs 300x the base bet.
- Reapers Gold + Walking Wilds – Costs 800x the base bet.
Pros
- A relatively easy Nolimit City slot to understand.
- Max win of 25,313x.
- A lot of enhanced bet and feature buy options.
Cons
- The extra spin buy option is going to be off-putting for many, as they can get ridiculously expensive.
- Not the best from the studio in terms of design.
- It's going to be hard to the max on this without the buy options.
Dead Men Walking Slot Review Final Thoughts
Dead Men Walking is another release from Nolimit that is sure to divide opinion within its fanbase. Yes, the bonus round is similar to a Hold & Win feature in many ways, which is sure to win some players over, but the addition of the "buy another spin" is not going to go down well with some, that's for sure.
Wrapping up, it's fair to say this isn't a premium release from NLC, and whilst some will lap it up and wax lyrical, the game is sure to have its critics, too. Which side of the fence are you going to fall on?

Why another game from nolimit city where they want you to keep buying more spins, nearly every game they make does it now. I think you’re too generous with 7 out of 10, more like a 6, but at least your scores are believable, I saw one place give over 8 lol
I hear what you’re saying, but I don’t think the game is as low as a 6.
For the buying part, I guess it comes down to how much you want to risk anything you manage to get banked in the bonus. I’m not sure I’d be gambling a few hundred or thousand bucks on one spin, but there are plenty of players who will.
Thanks for the feedback anyway; we always appreciate it.
