Game Overview
Whether it’s because of the movies, books or pure imagination, I’m certain that at some point we’ve all daydreamed about finding lost treasure, particularly pirate treasure and chests of ancient relics and gold coins. Whilst I can’t give you a map detailing the location of Blackbeard’s lost fortune, I can introduce you to the Dead Man’s Riches slot from game provider PG Soft, which won’t require you to go sailing across the deadly pirate invested seas, so, yeah, that’s got to be a bonus hasn’t it? Before we learn more about the game, let’s kick things off with a few basic stats. Dead Man’s Riches is a 5-reel slot with 20 fixed paylines, an RTP of 96.75%, and a maximum win of 10,000x the bet.
Onto the features of the game, and central to the action are the travelling wilds, which come in different variations and trigger free respins, giving you a shot at hitting some great wins. These take centre stage in the free spins too, where you can choose to play a standard bonus with more wilds in play, or opt for fewer spins, but all wilds that hit remain in play for the duration of the feature.
Swashbuckling adventures are just a press away, so why not fire up our Dead Man’s Riches demo slot and see what the game has to offer.
Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

The pirate-themed slot niche is full of exciting games, and such is the volume of titles in this category, we chose to create a page solely dedicated to them, so if you like what you see in Dead Man’s Riches today and want to try more titles with a similar theme, check out our Pirate slots page for more ideas. As always, though, we’ll throw a couple of our personal favourites into the mix to get you started, with Jawsome Pirates from Bullshark Games well worth a look, whilst Pirots 3 from Elk Studios remains one of the top slot games ever to be created in this genre.
Next, we’re heading to the pays section, where at the top of the paytable we have the Electric Eel with a payout of 25x the bet for a five of a kind win. This is followed by the Octopus at 20x, the Ships Wheel at 15x, a Map worth 10x, with the Sword and Potion completing the premium section with rewards of 5x and 2.5x, respectively.
We wrap up this section with the staking options on Dead Man’s Riches, and players can choose to join the gameplay from a minimum of €0.20 up to a maximum of €100.
Base Game & Modifiers

Played over a 5×3 reel configuration, Dead Man’s Riches features 10 fixed paylines, where wins are awarded when three or more matching symbols land across an active payline starting from the leftmost reel first.
Travelling Wild
During any main game spin, if 1 or more Wild Red Skull symbols and/or Wild Blue Skull symbols appear on the reels, the Travelling Wild Feature is activated after wins are paid.
During the Travelling Wild Feature, a respin is awarded with all Wild Red Skull symbols and/or Wild Blue Skull symbols moving on the reels. If there is no Wild Red Skull symbol or Wild Blue Skull symbol on the reels, no respin will be awarded, and the Travelling Wild Feature ends.
Wild Red Skull Symbol
At the start of any respin in Travelling Wild Feature (or at the beginning of any free spin), any Wild Red Skull symbol from the previous spin will move down in one symbol position (or move out of the reels if it is at the third row of the reels).
Wild Blue Skull Symbol
At the start of any respin in Travelling Wild Feature (or at the beginning of any free spin), any Wild Blue Skull symbol from the previous spin will move left in one symbol position (or move out of the reels if it is at the first reel).
Wild Captain Symbol
At the start of any respin in Travelling Wild Feature (or at the beginning of any free spin), if a Wild Red Skull symbol and a Wild Blue Skull symbol from the previous spin move into the same symbol position, the two symbols will be combined as Wild Captain symbol with the multipliers of two symbols added together (Wild symbol without multiplier is assumed to have x1 multiplier).
In the next respin, any Wild Captain symbol from the previous spin will be split into a Wild Red Skull symbol and a Wild Blue Skull symbol, with both symbols carrying the combined multipliers. All line wins involving any Wild symbol with a multiplier will be multiplied.
Dead Man’s Riches Slot Bonus Features

There is one main bonus round on Dead Man’s Riches, which is a free spins feature with two variations to choose from. This is triggered when 3 or more scatter symbols land in view.
Free Spins Feature
Players may choose to start the Free Spins Feature with 15 Free Spins or 8 Free Spins with Persistent Wild Symbols.
If 15 Free Spins are selected, 15 free spins are awarded. If 8 Free Spins with Persistent Wild Symbols are selected, 8 free spins are awarded, and any Wild Red Skull symbol and/or Wild Blue Skull symbol that moves out of the reels will reappear on the top row and/or the 5th reel, respectively.
- If a total of 2 Wild symbols appear on the reels during the Free Spins Feature, 2 free spins are awarded.
- If a total of 4 Wild symbols appear on the reels during the Free Spins Feature, 3 free spins are awarded.
- If a total of 6 Wild symbols appear on the reels during the Free Spins Feature, 5 free spins are awarded.
Pros
- Free respins are awarded when a travelling wild hits.
- High RTP of 96.75%.
- Two variations of the free spins round can be chosen from.
Cons
- We triggered several bonuses, and some of them were very low-paying.
- Can the 10,000x jackpot be won? We're not so sure.
Dead Man's Riches Slot Review Final Thoughts
We're always happy to see PG Soft move away from region-specific content, especially given their popularity in Asia and now the LatAm jurisdictions, too. However, whilst Dead Man's Riches does have some entertaining elements, namely the travelling wilds, we felt it still lacked a bit of bite to upgrade into the "good" category of our review scores.
There will be many of our visitors who disagree with our overall score, but once you've played a few of the bonus rounds, it's likely you'll come round to our way of thinking, and agree that whilst this is a reasonable effort from PG, there are better titles out there in their portfolio.
