Game Overview
Now I love a snack as much as the next guy, but if that meal meant I had to eat some gooey brains, I think I might be going on a diet, even if I was officially certified as being one of the undead. Thankfully, I’m still compos mentis, for the time being at least, but the same can’t be said about the characters in today’s review of the Jinx Gaming slot Dead Headz, a 5-reel zombie-themed game with 19 paylines, a Shoot & Loot bonus round, and a maximum win of 10,000x.
Theme & Design
With a zombie theme, it’s fairly unlikely we’re going to be treated to a sunny destination when the game hits our screens, and, in fact, it couldn’t be further from that, as we find ourselves in the pitch black placed in a graveyard. Yeah, thanks for that Jinx Gaming; you’re not really doing too much for my nerves, and I’m pretty certain I know what I’ll be dreaming about tonight. Anyway, enough of my sleeping habits and back on track, and whilst this might be a debut release from Jinx, the graphics look good, and there are some nice animations, especially in the main bonus round, which we’ll get to shortly.
Before we go any further, let’s throw some recommendations of similar games your way, and I’m going to stick with zombies and start with Playtech’s The Walking Dead slot, which might not be a classic with regard to its features, but it’s certainly a well-known franchise. If you want something else to get your infected teeth stuck into, then our PG demo of Zombie Outbreak is another title on our platform well worth a look.

Dead Headz Gameplay & Features
Jinx Gaming’s Dead Headz is a 5-reel, 5-row online slot with 19 fixed paylines and an RTP of 96.31%. As with all developers who operate on the Hacksaw platform, Jinx has provided players with a big selection of stakes to choose from, starting at a minimum of €0.10 a spin and reaching a maximum of €100.
Onto the gameplay, and the base game offers very little in the form of modifiers or bonuses, with the only feature of note being the wild symbols, which, when they land and help form part of a win, can have a multiplier attached up to the value of 20x.
That takes us onto the main bonus round, triggered when 3, 4, or 5 scatters appear in view, awarding 6 spins and a 1x, 5x, or 10x multiplier on all reels, respectively. When the bonus starts, waves of zombies start to attack, and the gun chamber will spin, awarding you with 1, 2, or 3 bullets. Each row of zombies that is completely removed will add 1 extra spin to your current total. The types of zombies that can be shot are:
- Blue Zombies: Will reveal a value which is added to the reel they are on.
- Green Zombies: Will reveal a value which is added to all meters.
- Orange Zombies: Reveal a multiplier which is applied to the reel it is on.
- Red Zombies: Reveal a multiplier which is applied to all meters.
The bonus round will end and all meters will be tallied up when a zombie reaches you.
Bonus Buy
If you wish to skip the base game, the bonus round can be purchased via the bonus buy feature at the cost of 150x the bet.
Pros
- A fun and unique bonus round.
- Good max win of 10,000x.
- Great animations in the bonus round.
Cons
- The base game is a bit boring.
- Can be annoying if the gun chamber keeps landing on just 1 bullet.
- The 10k max win might be a challenge to achieve.
Dead Headz Slot Review Final Thoughts
I was torn for a while as to whether I should score Dead Headz a 6.5 or a 7. On one hand, the base game lacks a bit of bite, making me think the 6 and a half was justified, but due to the bonus round and the fact that Jinx Gaming took such a risk using it on their debut slot, I opted for the 7, and I think overall that is fair.
Do you think I got that one right? Try the demo and see what you make of this fun game with a totally unique bonus feature.
