Game Overview
Casino game provider Peter & Sons’ latest release is Cyber Runner, a futuristic slot with expanding wilds, increasing multipliers, free spins, and a maximum win potential of 12,000x. With the provider known for its top-tier games, how does this release stack up? Let’s find out!
Theme & Design
Peter & Sons have, pretty rapidly, risen to fame in the online gambling world. Their video slots have become very well known for their good looks. The software provider has a signature “look and feel” to its games, a quality that you simply don’t see in titles from many other providers.
Pick pretty much any of their games, whether it’s Ghost Father or Gunpowder, and you’ll find a well-polished, well-executed game that looks and feels like unlike pretty much anything you’ll see from other providers today.
That same level of quality is, of course, found in Cyber Runner, and from the moment you load up the game, you’ll feel as though you’ve been plunged into a futuristic Asian world. There are flying cars in the background, Chinese-inspired billboards floating in the sky, and a cyberpunk vibe throughout. It looks great, and we certainly can’t criticise the provider here!

Cyber Runner Gameplay & Bonus Features
Cyber Runner can be played from as little as €0.10 per spin, and the maximum bet can reach as high as €50. The game is played on a 6×5 setup, and the game uses a win-all-ways mechanic, so wins are formed by matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right. While writing this review, we were unable to find the RTP in the game’s paytable or rules.
Now, in the main game, when you form wins, the winning symbols are removed from the reels, and this triggers the Cascade feature. New symbols then drop down to fill the empty spots. Each cascade increases a win multiplier by +1.
If you land a wild symbol, it automatically expands to fill the entire reel it’s sat on, except for the first reel. Another random feature is the “Infection” mechanic. Any low value symbol in the game can randomly be replaced by one of the high value symbols.
Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols triggers the game’s main bonus round and awards you with 7, 9, 11, or 13 free spins, respectively. Each additional scatter symbol awards +2 spins. During the free spins, a multiplier is applied to every win you form. At the beginning, the multiplier begins at 1x, and between spins, it does not reset, so it’s essentially an unlimited multiplier bonus round.
Bonus Buy & Golden Bet
If you live in a region where bonus buy options are allowed, you’ll also find a few options. You can pay an extra 0.5x per spin to increase the chances of landing expanding wilds and scatter symbols. You can also pay 120x your bet to buy into the free spins bonus directly.
Pros
- Win up to 12,000x.
- Solid visuals and a superb overall presentation.
- Unlimited win multiplier during free spins .
Cons
- Not much to look forward to in the free spins bonus.
- Golden Bet/Bonus Buy option unavailable in all regions.
Cyber Runner Slot Review Final Thoughts
Cyber Runner is a very good looking slot, there’s no denying that. It’s exactly what we’ve come to expect from Peter & Sons, and we’re sure it’ll perform relatively well when it’s released.
Still, there are a few obvious drawbacks for us. Firstly, while it’s cool to see the “Infection” mechanic and the expanding wilds, there’s not much actually happening during the free spins, besides an increasing multiplier. You can re-trigger the bonus, so it’s easy to see where the potential is, but it ends up feeling quite a lot like Big Time Gaming’s Bonanza Megaways, here.
We also feel that it’s just a bit “lacking”. Given the lengths they (clearly) went to when it came to design, we’re not really sure why they couldn’t come up with some more in-bonus innovations, but it’s still not a bad game on the whole, and we’ll probably give it a few spins ourselves!
