Slot Overview

Cupid’s Crush is a Valentine’s-themed video slot from Wicked Games that combines a scatter pays mechanic, cascading wins, multipliers, Free Spins, and more. With a fairly low maximum win potential of 5,000x, our initial thoughts lean towards there being too much going on in the game to warrant such a low payout limit. Does Cupid’s Crush redeem itself in this Demoslot review? Let’s find out.

Theme & Design

Cupid’s Crush leans heavily into romance and classical mythology, and the action unfolds among soft clouds, golden temples, and warm, cosy-looking skies. The visual tone is light, cheerful, and we’d say quite charming, and you’ll see heart-shaped symbols, glowing gemstones, and polished gold frames. No issues on the design front here!

Some players, however, may find the theme a bit “tacky”. Valentine’s Day slots aren’t for everyone, so if titles like Love is in The Air or Love & Riches Eldorado aren’t up your street, Cupid’s Crush may be one to miss.

Cupid’s Crush Gameplay & Bonus Features

Cupid’s Crush is played on a 6×5 grid, and the slot uses a Scatter Pays system, so wins are formed when eight or more matching symbols land anywhere in view. You can bet from €0.20 to €400 per spin, and the game boasts a slightly above-average RTP of 96.15%.

Now, when a winning cluster is formed, the Cascade feature activates. Winning symbols are removed, new symbols drop into place, and additional wins can occur within the same spin. This process continues until no further wins are created. Multipliers can also appear here, worth between 2x and 100x. When they land, they stack together and apply to all wins formed during the same cascade sequence.

The Free Spins feature builds on the cascade mechanic with a major twist. Instead of winning symbols being removed, they form sticky clusters that drop to the bottom of the grid. This bonus is triggered by landing 3 Scatters in view, and doing so awards 10 free games.

As new matching symbols land, these clusters grow larger, making them worth more. Multipliers also appear during the Free Spins, and you can also land Mystery symbols, which can then upgrade clusters, add extra multipliers, or award additional free games.

Cupid’s Crush also contains a Super Free Spins feature triggered by landing 4 Scatters. When this is triggered, the accumulated total multiplier is applied to every win during the feature, rather than just individual cascades.

Buy Bonus/Ante Bet

There are two Bonus Buy options and one Ante Bet in Cupid’s Crush if you live in a region where feature purchases are allowed:

  • 3 Scatters: 85x for 10 Free Spins
  • 4 Scatters: 275x for 10 Super Free Spins
  • Ante Bet: Costs 1.5x your stake and trebles your chance of landing the bonus

Pros

  • Low variance game with frequent wins and cascades.
  • Strong multiplier potential.
  • 5,000x maximum win potential, is OK.

Cons

  • The theme will NOT appeal to everyone.
  • Base game payouts are generally awful without multipliers.
  • Bonus Buy/Ante Bet options unavailable in some regions.

Cupid's Crush Slot Review Final Thoughts

Cupid’s Crush is a slot designed for players who like cheesy themes, smooth gameplay, frequent wins, and a relaxed pace rather than the extreme levels of volatility we’re used to seeing from many providers. Yes, the low-volatility maths model ensures steady action, while cascading wins and stacked multipliers keep each spin engaging without overwhelming complexity, so if you can get past the theme, there’s actually fairly solid mechanics under the hood.

We like both the Free Spins and Super Free Spins features, especially thanks to the sticky clusters and global multipliers. There are a couple of semi-decently priced Bonus Buy options available, and the Ante Bet seems fair at 1.5x, too.

We just wish the maximum win potential was a little better. 5,000x is quite low for a multiplier-focused game like this, and that, combined with the romantic theme, will likely deter quite a few serious players. Still, it’s (surprisingly) not a bad game, and it MIGHT be one that we even check out, on the 14th February only, of course.
