Slot Overview

Crowned Corners is a new Bullshark Games release. This mediaeval-themed, medium-volatility slot mixes cascading wins with a clever “corner tower” mechanic that can add symbols, lock Wilds, and even drop multiplier Wilds onto the reels! It’s a unique game, offering up to 3,125 ways to win, and with a maximum win potential of 15,000x, it looks pretty tempting. How did it stack up during our testing, however? Let’s find out.

Gameplay & Bonus Features

Crowned Corners runs on a 5-reel, 5-row setup with up to 3,125 ways to win. The game uses a Cascading Reels mechanic, where winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in until no further wins land. You can bet from €0.10 to €50 per spin, and the game boasts a default RTP of 96.30%, although lower RTP configurations are available, too.

The first truly unique mechanic is the Royal Tower feature: four corner positions (top and bottom of the leftmost and rightmost reels) can reveal blanks or special symbols, and empty towers can reveal again during cascades, too.

Depending on what symbols land, a modifier can apply. “ADD” drops a full line of matching symbols in a chosen direction, with multiple “ADDS” choosing the same symbol but spreading them in different directions. “WILD” can lock a Wild in place until it forms part of a win, while “WILD + MULTIPLIER” reveals Wilds with multipliers of between 2x and 25x. Scatters can also be revealed, helping you trigger the Free Spins bonus.

There are two Free Spins modes, both starting with 10 spins. King’s Bounty triggers with 3 Scatters and keeps the base game’s mechanics with an increased chance of special tower reveals; each Scatter awards +1 Free Spin, too. If you land 4 Scatters, you receive Castle Conquest, and this is basically an upgraded version, with at least one Royal Tower symbol guaranteed on every spin.

Bonus Buy/FeatureSpins

Crowned Corners includes several Bonus Buy/FeatureSpins options:

  • BonusHunt FeatureSpins: Costs 3x and makes each spin 5x more likely to trigger a bonus.
  • TowerPower FeatureSpins: Costs 50x and guarantees at least 2 Royal Tower reveals.
  • King’s Bounty Free Spins: Costs 100x.
  • Castle Conquest: Costs 250x.

Theme & Design

Crowned Corners is designed around a playful, Saturday-morning-cartoon theme. The game is based on mediaeval warfare, with a chubby, heroic “king” vibe and a battlefield backdrop that actually feels quite calming… weirdly!

The action is framed around the towers in the four corners of the grid, and this makes the game have a real “focal point”, even when the base game symbols end up doing most of the work! It’s a decent-looking game, and if you like character-based slots like Paper Biker and Godly Gains, this’ll probably be right up your street!

Pros

  • Solid maximum win potential of 15,000x.
  • Very unique Royal Tower mechanics.
  • Two different Free Spins modes.

Cons

  • The base game is quite reliant on Royal Towers.
  • RTP can be as low as 94.24%.
  • Bonus Buy/FeatureSpins unavailable in some regions.

Final Thoughts

Look, we’ll be the first ones to say that we can be quite critical with Bullshark Games, which is why we were so genuinely impressed with Crowned Corners. It’s a solid example of how one well-defined “gimmick” can pretty much carry an entire slot, and we really love the four Royal Towers.

It keeps the base game very engaging, and even a spin without any initial modifiers can spiral into one with many, as the Royal Towers can activate during cascades!

No, the theme won’t be for everyone, but for us, this is one of the first Bullshark Games slots we may actually play for ourselves, and the maximum win potential of 15,000x is definitely appealing to us, too!
