Game Overview
When I was growing up, one of my favourite cartoons was Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, and to be honest, I still don’t mind watching it now if I see it on the TV, especially as the little cloud of dust that appears when he falls off the cliff never fails to make me smile. Okay, so why am I reminiscing about old cartoons? That’s because I’ve got something very similar to that theme to tell you about today, which is the AvatarUX slot Coyote Gold Loot Drop, a 5-reel game with 1,024 ways to win, a new loot drop mechanic from the studio, and a maximum win of 10,000x the bet.
Theme & Design
I did wonder when I saw the title of Coyote Gold if it was in some way going to take inspiration from the iconic Warner Bros cartoon, and I think it’s safe to say that it’s certainly had an influence, wouldn’t you agree? Anyway, once the game has loaded up, you’ll find yourself out in the American West, the classic hunting ground of Wile E. Coyote, whilst the symbols on the reels also hint at the legendary cartoon, too, but regardless of how the theme has come about, the design of the game is good, and it looks great across all devices.
Onto my recommendations next, and sticking with a cartoon theme, I’m going to send you over to one of our Pragmatic demo games which I recently reviewed. It might not have the most appealing gameplay, but the design is fantastic, so go check out Cosmic Catch when you’re done with today’s review.

Coyote Gold Gameplay & Features
AvatarUX’s Coyote Gold Loot Drop is a 5-reel, 4-row online slot with 1,024 ways to win, which offers operators variable RTP models ranging from a high of 96% to a low of 90.51%. Players are greeted with a big choice of real money betting options, starting from a minimum stake of €0.10, reaching a maximum of €300, but don’t be surprised to see that upper limit restricted at many of the casinos you play at.
Ok, it’s time to get into the features, and we’ll begin with the Loot Drop mechanic, which is triggered when you form a winning combination on the playfield. The symbols from the win will explode and be removed and then replaced with either a cash prize ranging from 0.5x to 10x, a wild symbol, a cash jail that collects all visible cash prizes and adds them to your balance, or a bonus symbol, which could help trigger the feature.
Speaking of which, the free spins round is activated when 3 or more of the scatters appear in view. During the bonus, all cash jail symbols remain sticky for the duration of the feature, and each scatter that lands will award an extra 2 spins to your current total.
Bonus Buy
If you’d like to play Coyote Gold with a greater risk, you can choose from the following options:
- Ante Bet: 2x the chance of triggering the bonus – Costs 1.5x the base bet.
- 8 Spin Bonus: Costs 60x the base bet.
- 12 Spin Bonus: Costs 120x the base bet.
- 100% Cash Jail and 12 Spins: Costs 200x the base bet.
Pros
- Features a brand new mechanic.
- Good max win of 10,000x.
- The cash jail symbols remain sticky in the free spins.
- Bonus buy options from as little as 60x the bet.
Cons
- The RTP can reach as low as 90.5%.
- It still has the feel of a collector-style slot.
- Without a cash jail symbol, all the animations and cash symbols are pointless.
Coyote Gold Slot Review Final Thoughts
Fair play to AvatarUX; they continue to push new ideas and mechanics into their portfolio, and it's nice to see in an industry that is often repetitive and full of clones. That said, Coyote Gold does still have a collector-style slot feel to it, but I think it does enough to stand out, and whilst it might not go on to be a raging success, it's worth a few spins at the very least.
