Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways Theme, Stakes, Paylines & Symbols
The Cops ‘n’ Robbers franchise is one of the best known collection of slots in the UK, and what started out life as a £4 jackpot machine has now progressed to an online Megaways™ game. Rather pleasingly the theme has remained constant throughout all these years, so Bert, Sid, Vic and the good old traditional British Bobby all play a staring role in the slot. So it’s off to the fictional streets of England we go, with some classic cartoon style music accompanying our play throughout.
Starting off with the paytable on Cops ‘n’ Robbers, we find that the low value symbols come in the form of the classic royals 10, J, Q, K, and Ace. Higher value symbols are represented by the police car, cash, money bag, policemen, and game logo, where a 6 of a kind win will pay 1.75x, 2x, 7.5x, and 50x respectively. The Bulldog is the wild symbol on the game, and will substitute for all game symbols except the scatter. It should be noted that the wild appears on the upper reel only in the base game, and the main reels only in the free spins feature.
Plotting your crime of the century and getting into the fun on this game can cost from as little as €0.20 a spin, with the top stake on the game reaching €20 a play. When it comes to payout percentage on the game, it is stated that an average RTP of between 95.19% – 95.50% is in play on Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways™. This can be considered as reasonable, but for a Megaways™ title it is a little low.
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Base Game & Modifiers
Alongside the possibility of playing with up to 117,649 ways to win on Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways™, there are a number of modifiers included within the slot that can assist you in creating even more wins. Le’s take a closer look at what these are and just how they work.
Cascading Reels
A Megaways™ favourite amongst players is the cascading/tumbling reels mechanic, and this kicks into action each time that you form a win across the reels on Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways™. After the slot has paid you the amount for the initial win, it will then eliminate the winning symbols from the reels and replace them with brand new ones that will fall from above. This allows for the possibility of a series of win reactions and further cascades, which can prove to be very lucrative, especially if a high amount of Megaways™ are in play.
Mystery Symbols
Positioned at the top right hand side of the game reels you will notice that there is a police light. This can randomly flash and turn 2 colours, blue or red, and if it stops on blue then the mystery symbol modifier will be triggered. Once activated, dynamite symbols will then be thrown onto the reels, and after the reels have then come to a halt, the dynamite will explode and all instances of it will reveal the same randomly chosen symbol from the paytable.
Red Reels Modifier
If the police light stops on red, then the Red Reels Increasing Megaways Modifier will be awarded. For this series of spins to play out you will need to have a cash balance, as each spin will cost whatever your current stake is set to.
The modifier starts with Bert appearing at the bottom left-hand side of the reels, with a road crossing light on the opposite side of the reels. As each spin begins the light will stop on either red or green, with red keeping Bert in his current position, and green moving him along one position. Every spin that then follows will then see the amount of Megaways™ increase, with the modifier finally coming to an end when you reach the max Megaways™ of 117,649, achieve a win of 5x or more, or Bert reaches the other side of the reels, which will trigger the bonus feature.
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways Free Spins Feature
As we just mentioned, if you complete the red reels modifier then you will be awarded the bonus feature. This can also be triggered by landing 3 or more of the bonus symbols anywhere in view. After you have activated the bonus round, you will be given 2 exciting features to chose from. These are are as follows:
Free Spins Feature
A basic 3 scatter feature trigger will award you with 8 free spins, with each additional scatter that lands thereafter adding a further 2 spins. Before this bonus begins you can risk your spins for more on the gamble wheel, where a maximum of 25 can be won. However, be careful as there are stages of this gamble where you can lose everything.
After your free spin total has been decided, the feature will begin with a win multiplier of x1 in place. You can of course increase the win multiplier by successfully creating win reactions on the reels, with each reaction incrementing the multiplier by a further x1.
Last up in the free spins we have the inclusion of ” Bonzo ” the walking wild dog. At any stage in the free spins he can awaken and start walking across the upper reel. As well as substituting for all other game symbols, If a wild symbol lands directly below the reel he is on then that whole reel will turn wild.
Chase Bonus
The legendary chase bonus gets underway with you being awarded 3 free rolls of the dice around the board before the copper awakens from his slumber. The squares on the board are filled with cash amounts that get added to you total SWAG meter as you go along, with the bottom left hand square acting as a multiplier that will be applied to all current winnings if you are to land on it.
After the initial 3 free rolls, the copper will begin chasing you around the board and if he catches you then you will have to face the ID Parade. Press start and one of the 3 characters will be chosen with the following outcomes then taking place.
- Vic: Increases all values on the board and the bonus continues
- Sid: Compensation is awarded and the bonus will continue
- Bert: The bonus ends and all wins are paid
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways Slot Final Thoughts
Overall it’s safe to say that Inspired really have gone to town on this game, with so many features and modifiers being packed into it. This is hardly surprising though when you look at how well they brought Centurion to life in Centurion Megaways™, and how popular that game has gone on to be.
On a personal level, spinning the reels on Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways™ really did bring back some memories of playing the 4 reel AWP some 25 years ago, and it still remains a favourite slot of mine to this day. The chase feature still offers as much excitement now as it did back then, and it’s always a thrill to hit the compensation a couple of times and reap the rewards from it.
