Gameplay & Bonus Features

Buzz Patrol is played on a five-reel, four-row layout with 20 fixed paylines. The game has an RTP of 96.31%, which is very slightly above average. You can bet from €0.10 to €100 per spin, and wins are paid from left to right

In the base game, you’ll find the Mini Game symbol, and when it lands, it opens a tiny 3×3 hold and win-style grid inside the symbol cell itself. This mini feature starts with 3 spins, and blanks, instant win symbols, collect symbols and add multiplier symbols can land inside, nothing else. Any time you land something, the respin counter resets back to 3, and this process continues until you fail to land any new symbols for 3 respins or until you fill the grid.

The main bonus is triggered by landing 3, 4 or 5 Instant Win symbols in the base game. There are two versions of it. The standard bonus, Patrol Duty, uses a familiar 3-respin setup, and all triggering symbols stay in place, while new instant wins, multipliers and collect effects can land during the feature, too.  Add Multipliers place 2 to 4 random multipliers onto random cells, while Collect symbols gather all current instant win values into one combined cell, clearing the rest of the grid for more symbols to land.

There’s also The Big Bust, which is the stronger of the two features. This triggers when at least one of the symbols involved in activating the bonus is a Mini Game symbol, and before the bonus begins, that Mini Game plays out fully, which means you get to enter the bonus with a much stronger starting “value”, if you like, already in place.

Bonus Buy

Buzz Patrol includes a few bonus buy/FeatureSpins options. BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost 3x and make each spin 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus. Instant Justice FeatureSpins cost 50x and guarantee at least one Mini Game symbol. The Patrol Duty bonus can be purchased directly for 80x, while The Big Bust can be purchased for 200x.

Theme & Design

Buzz Patrol is one of the more interesting-looking games we’ve reviewed recently, and we actually like what Bullshark Games has done here. It looks very different from a lot of the slop we’ve seen coming out of Hacksaw Gaming’s studios recently, and while it’s got some clear elements of Nolimit City’s San Quentin, we feel that Bullshark has also managed to put its own spin on things.

On the left-hand side of the reels you’ll see a detective fly, wearing a trenchcoat, and on the right-hand side you’ll see a policeman. The background shows a crime scene, and sure, it’s not the most graphically intense video slot we’ve ever seen, but it works, and it works well.
