Game Overview
Whilst modernised trains will get you to your destination in super quick times, you can’t beat the look of an old-fashioned steam train, especially if it’s also got the potential to bring you some supersized winnings. So, let me introduce you to the Bullion Xpress slot from provider Play’n GO, a 5-reel game with a unique win multiplier, respins bonus round, and wins that can reach a maximum of 6,000x the bet.
Theme & Design
Play’n GO are taking you back in time to the 1800s in their Bullion Xpress slot when steam trains and their endless carriages were the superior way to travel long distances. Once the game hits your device, you’ll find the reels of the slot planted somewhere in the Old West surrounded by mountains, and if you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll see the occasional steam train whizzing by.
Those of you who are keen train spotters in the gambling industry might want to try out some other games with a similar theme, and if that’s the case, then Relax Gaming is a studio you’ll want to explore. Why? Because they happen to be the provider who created some of the best train-themed slots ever with their Money Train series, so we’d recommend spinning the reels on Money Train 3 and Money Train 4 when you’re done with our review of Bullion Xpress today.

Bullion Xpress Gameplay & Features
Play’n GO’s Bullion Xpress is a 5-reel, 3-row online slot featuring 10 paylines and an RTP of 96%. As is often the case with a PNG slot, there is a wide range of betting options available, with stakes starting at a budget-friendly €0.10 a spin, reaching a maximum of €100.
Let’s get into the features next, and we’ll start with the multiplier counter that is located on the right-hand side of the reels. On any spin, all symbols except scatters may have multipliers attached to them. These will be added to the multiplier counter, and any wins formed on that spin will have the total value of the counter applied to them.
Next we have the Fortune Frenzy feature, which may trigger randomly at the end of a losing spin. When this activates, you will be awarded the value of the 4 rail cars that are above the main playfield. If any multipliers have been collected by the counter on this spin, they will be applied to the total winnings from the rail cars.
Finally, we have the Bonus Blitz round, triggered when 3, 4 or 5 scatters land in view, awarding 3, 4 and 5 respins, respectively. During this round the aim is to line up rail car values with the multipliers below them.
Pros
- The multiplier counter has the potential to award some good-sized base game wins.
- The Fortune Frenzy can randomly trigger awarding payouts on a dead spin.
Cons
- No bonus buy.
- The bonus round can pay low amounts.
Bullion Xpress Slot Review Final Thoughts
I did like the multiplier counter feature in Bullion Xpress but was left quite disappointed by the main bonus, which I triggered twice, with both rounds paying under 15x. You may have a better overall experience of the game than I did in my short playing time, but I don't see this as being a game I'll be revisiting again any time soon.
