Slot Overview

Black Clover Bell Link is another EGT instalment in the Bell Link series of slots. The game’s designed around a 5×4 layout with 40 fixed paylines, and it’s built on the familiar Bell Link Hold & Win mechanic. In this slot review, we’re going to break down everything the game has to offer and what to expect when playing it for yourself.

Gameplay & Bonus Features

Black Clover Bell Link is played on a five-reel, four-row layout with 40 fixed paylines. The game offers a default RTP of 96.5%. You can bet between €0.50 and €50 per spin, too, so there are betting options for pretty much every player.

The expanding wild (the four-leaf clover itself) lands on reels 2, 3, and 4, covering the full reel when contributing to a win. There are also two scatter symbols: the Dollar, and the Star. The Dollar has its own paytable, paying for 3, 4, or 5, while the Star pays for landing three on reels 1, 3, and 5.

Now, the game’s sole bonus round, Bell Link, is triggered when 5+ Bell symbols land anywhere in view. You then win 3 Bell Link Free Spins, and here, only Bell symbols can land. Each time you land a Bell, your remaining respins counter resets back to three, and if you fill the whole screen, a 3x multiplier is applied, too. Landing 15-19 bells awards a 2x multiplier. To win the Grand Jackpot, you need to land three red bells, while landing three green bells awards the Major. Golden Bells award between 1x and 100x your bet, so it’s your standard Hold & Win bonus, really.

Theme & Design

Unlike other games in the series, Black Clover Bell Link has done away with the classic warm fruit machine design and replaced it with a premium black-and-gold visual design. You’ll see bells and coins on the left-hand side of the reels, and above, the game’s four jackpots are visible.

For us, the overall feel of the game is more of a luxury one than a retro one. Whether Black and Gold Clover Bell Link offers a meaningful theme beyond the initial visual appearance is another question, but as far as presentation goes, EGT has done a pretty decent job here. It looks very smart, modern, and is easy to understand.

Pros

  • Pretty impressive black-and-gold design: modern, and it looks good
  • Bell Link Jackpot offers high win potential
  • Gamble feature lets you try to double your wins

Cons

  • Mechanics are identical to all previous Bell Link releases
  • No free spins bonus available
  • Pretty hard to actually win big without hitting the jackpots

Final Thoughts

Black Clover Bell Link may not be the most mechanically complex slot we've ever seen from EGT, but it's definitely one of the best-looking, and we like the fact that it showcases what appears to be the provider's new and updated game interface.

The mechanics are, of course, the same Bell Link formula, and having reviewed two other Bell Link titles recently, there are only so many ways to explain how the game actually works.

Still, if you're a fan of this type of game and don't mind some stripped-back slotting, then Black Clover Bell Link is well worth checking out. For us, the visuals make it decent enough on its own, but the inclusion of the jackpots and the wild symbol adds something extra, too!
