Game Overview

There’s quite a few places I wouldn’t want to spend any considerable amount of time in, and right at the top of that list is prison. However, there are always exceptions to be made, and having seen that TaDa Gaming has released a slot titled Big Boss, I’m wondering if this might be one of those instances? Why do I say this? Well, a quick run-through of the stats reveals this prison-themed slot to be a 5-reel game that has the potential to increase the size of the playfield where a max win reward of 50,000x is up for grabs. It has to be worth doing a bit of bird, doesn’t it?

Theme & Design

Being choked up in the slammer doesn’t sound like much fun at all, does it? And from the setting that TaDa Gaming has painted for us, I remember why I never want to go to one of these places now. Thankfully it’s only a game, but if you want to imagine what it might be like, you’ll see a dingy-looking block of cells behind the reels of the game with flickering lights and, yeah, plenty of disgusting-looking things on the floor.

We cover a good variety of crime-related slots here at Demoslot, but as soon as I saw Big Boss, it reminded me of San Quentin and San Quentin 2 from Nolimit City. If you haven’t played either of those titles before, I’d highly recommend that you do.

Big Boss Gameplay & Features

TaDa Gaming’s Big Boss slot is a 5-reel game with 243 paylines and a high RTP of 97%. Staking options start out from a minimum of €0.20 a spin to a maximum of €200, although I feel this upper limit will be capped at lower values across many casinos where the game is featured.

The initial gameplay on Big Boss begins with 243 ways to win active, but each time a scatter symbol lands in view, it will unlock those positions that are caged above and below the reels, potentially expanding the playfield in size up to 3,125 ways to win. Additionally, when the positions above the reels are unlocked, they may contain the Big Boss Collector symbol and Fish and Elder cash symbols. If this occurs, the Big Boss will collect the cash and add to your bankroll. Other notable features include wild symbols that may randomly appear with a multiplier of up to 4x attached.

Onto the main bonus round, and there are 3 variations that can be triggered. Landing 3 scatters will trigger Riot, awarding 8 free spins with 6 unlocked cells. Hitting 4 scatters activates Chaos, awarding 9 free spins with 8 unlocked cells, and finally, if 5 scatters land, Anarchy is initiated, rewarding players with 10 free spins and 10 unlocked cells.

During all features, the prestige meter is in play at the side of the reels. Each time the Big Boss collects any monetary symbols, they are added to the meter where you have the opportunity to unlock bigger multipliers. and win more free spins,

Pros

  • The playfield can be expanded up to 3,125 ways to win.
  • A huge 50,000x max win.
  • More spins and win multipliers can be unlocked in the bonus.

Cons

  • Is that max win of 50,000x really achievable?
  • Feels like fishing-slot mechanics in disguise.

Big Boss Slot Review Final Thoughts

They say crime doesn't pay, but if you were lucky enough to hit the max win of 50,000x on TaDa Gaming's Big Boss slot, you might not agree with that statement. However, how likely anybody is to hit that jackpot prize I'm not sure, as it seems like it would have to be a bit of a miracle to even get anywhere near 10,000x on this game, let alone 5 times that amount.

I'm already sounding critical here, I know, but that max win does seem a bit high for a game of this style, and as I said in the cons section, too, the whole game and feature feel a bit like the mechanics of a fishing collector slot slightly dressed up.
