Game Overview
Yes, Pragmatic Play/Reel Kingdom is back with yet ANOTHER instalment in the “Big Bass” series, and this latest addition is called Big Bass Splash 1000. The “1000” edition increases the game’s win potential up to 25,000x, but there are a couple of other changes, too, and you can learn all about them here in this detailed slot review.
Theme & Design
By now, the Big Bass franchise has become something of a running joke in the online gambling industry. Whether it’s Big Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Splash, Big Bass Floats My Boat, or some of the more recent seasonal spinoffs like Big Bass Christmas Bash, it really does seem as though this genre of game is here to stay, whether you like it or not!
Big Bass Splash 1000 continues the game’s legacy with the series’ trademark underwater look and feel, and visually, there’s basically nothing to differentiate the game from its millions (almost) of predecessors. The reels sit underwater, with coral reefs visible, and the surface of the water is at the top of the screen with some land in sight.
It’s far from being the best-looking game on the market, but then, when have Big Bass games ever been known for their design work! It’s the mechanics inside them that keep players coming back, and that’s what we’ll look at in the following section of this review.

Big Bass Splash 1000 Gameplay & Features
Big Bass Splash 1000 is played on a five-reel, three-row layout. There are, like most Big Bass games, just ten fixed paylines in play at all times. The game’s default RTP is 96.52%, although the slot is also available in 95.51% and 94.53% versions.
Like most Big Bass games, most of the action revolves around Money Symbols. These carry values worth between 2x and 1,000x your bet. In the base game, they can form winning paylines of their own, but it’s during the free spins where most of their values come into play.
This bonus round is triggered when 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols are anywhere in view, and you’ll be awarded 10, 15, or 20 free spins, respectively. Before the bonus begins, up to five modifiers may be randomly awarded, including additional Fishermen, more Money Symbols, bonus-level boosts, or extra spins.
During the bonus round, every Fisherman wild that lands collects visible fish prizes and adds progress to a meter. Collecting four Fishermen increases the global multiplier, which goes up a trail of 2x, 3x, then 10x. You also receive 10 additional free spins each time you reach a new level.
Bonus Buy & Ante Bet
If you live in a region where bonus buys are allowed, Big Bass Splash 1000 contains a few options:
- Ante Bet: Costs 2x your base game stake and doubles the chance of triggering the free spins bonus.
- Free Spins: Costs 100x your bet to instantly trigger the main free spins bonus.
- Super Free Spins: Costs 450x your bet to unlock an “enhanced” bonus, with a much higher chance of landing premium-value fish.
Pros
- Impressive 25,000x maximum win potential.
- Familiar mechanics and layout.
- Plenty of modifiers and re-triggers.
Cons
- Basically identical to the original Big Bass Bonanza.
- Lower top fish prizes.
- Bonus buy options unavailable in all regions.
Big Bass Splash 1000 Slot Review Final Thoughts
Big Bass Splash 1000 is yet ANOTHER “Big Bass” release, and this time, despite the increased maximum win potential of 25,000x, there’s actually only negative (visible) differences. The lowest value fish has been lowered to 1,000x, instead of 5,000x. Everything else about the game is identical.
However, there is a caveat: given that Big Bass Splash 1000 offers a much higher maximum win potential than the original Big Bass, it’s probable and likely, that Pragmatic Play/Reel Kingdom have designed the top-paying fish (the 1,000x one) to land more frequently. Even the fact that “1000” is in the game’s name implies this fish isn’t likely to be a once-in-a-lifetime-landing event, so it does mean you may end up seeing those top values more frequently than before.
Still, aside from this, it’s exactly the same game; the same free spins bonus, the same progression mechanics, and the same design, look, and feel; nothing original here, and another 30 minutes of our lives reviewing a game we’ll never get back!
