Game Overview
There’s something curiously satisfying about a good play on words, don’t you think? I suspect Relax Gaming probably feels this way, too, considering that they have named their latest bee-themed online slot ‘Beellionaires Dream Drop’. Here are the basics – 1,024 payways, a 10,000x maximum win (progressive jackpots not included), and a 94% RTP. Note that the RTP does not factor in the progressive jackpot contribution of 12%, which is a massive slice of the pie here – any session where you don’t end up collecting one of the smaller jackpots is certain to be much shorter than it would have been on a non-progressive online slot.
The ‘Dream Drop’ jackpots are a feature of Relax’s games, so what else does Beellionaires have going for it other than that? Let’s start with the bronze, silver, and gold coin symbols that only appear on reels two, three, and four; each one of these that lands on the reels can be worth up to 1,000x the total bet, although you’ll need a collector symbol to actually claim these prizes. In addition, there are two spin-based bonus rounds – a three-spin feature dubbed ‘royal re-spins, and a regular free spin feature that looks to have taken inspiration from the money cart bonus featured in the Money Train games.
Am I the only one who thinks that Beellionaires is a dad joke-level play on words? Ah, maybe that’s it – it wasn’t meant to be funny! Funny or not, we do have a free demo slot of Beellionaires Dream Drop available to play below:
Beellionaires Dream Drop Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The humble bee shows up more often than you might expect in the world of online slots! NetEnt created an excellent machine based on these amazing creatures named Bee Hive Bonanza, and there’s another great one by Stakelogic titled Wild Buzz, too! All three games look pretty similar visually but are vastly different regarding their feature sets, variance, and overall quality. However, what separates Beellionaires from its peers more than anything else is undoubtedly the Dream Drop jackpots. If you don’t enjoy progressive jackpot games, then you’ll definitely want to give this one a miss. Personally, I wouldn’t blame anyone who felt this way – the RTP is horrendously low when you include the 12% deduction for seeding the jackpots.
There’s an eclectic selection of symbols at the top of the paytable – a bee-inspired perfume bottle takes the top spot with a return of 25x the bet for a full payway of five of a kind, followed by a trumpet which has a payout of 10x for all five symbols. Next, there’s a green scroll – possibly the bees constitution – which will award 7.5x the bet for a complete payway, whilst a five of a kind combination of the tankards of mead (come on, it has to be mead!) will get you a total of 5x your total stake. As for the low pays, there are four of these which feature a sort-of honeycomb version of the four playing card suits. They all share equal returns of 0.5x the bet for all five symbols.
The minimum/maximum available bets in Beellionaires have been set at €0.20 and €100.00, respectively. As with most progressive jackpot games, your odds of winning a jackpot scale linearly with the size of your bet, so if you are going to play a game such as this, I’d recommend always betting the maximum that you can afford.
Base Game & Modifiers
There aren’t too many features in the base game of Beellionaires, but that’s probably not too surprising, given that the machine has two main bonus rounds and five progressive jackpots. There are five reels of four rows each for a total of 1,024 payways, and all symbols require at least three matches starting from the leftmost reel to award a win.
Coin Collection
Bronze, silver, and gold coin symbols can appear on reels two, three, and four, each of which can be worth anywhere from 1x to 1,000x the total bet. In addition, you’ll notice three strange-looking door shapes directly above those reels. This is no coincidence!
To actually collect the values shown on the coin symbols, you will need a collector bee – fortunately, Beellionaires includes two of them! Prince Bee will collect any, and all coin values from the reel directly below him, whilst Queen Bee can collect the value of all coins visible on the reel set. If both the Prince and the Queen land during a single spin, the same coin symbols can be collected multiple times.
Beellionaires Dream Drop Slot Bonus Features
The collector bees mentioned in the previous section can still be useful even if there are no coin symbols on the reels when they land. Should three collector bees land simultaneously, the game will award you the royal re-spins before they do their coin-collecting business.
Bonus scatter symbols also appear on all five reels, and hitting three on a single spin will award 10 free spins. Should four or five scatter symbols happen to land, this is increased to 15 or 20 free spins, respectively.
Royal Respins
This is a three-spin feature that uses an alternate set of reels containing only the bronze, silver, and gold coin symbols. All coin symbols visible on the triggering spin will be locked in place before the feature begins, and three re-spins will be added to your remaining counter.
Any additional coin symbols that land after this point will also lock in place for the duration of the feature and reset your remaining spin counter back to the initial three. If no coin’s land for three consecutive re-spins, the feature will end with the collector bees gathering up the values of all visible coin symbols.
Free Spins
I was expecting the regular free spins to be well… regular, considering that the game already has a three-spin feature, but this was not the case. Once again, the reels used here contain coin symbols instead of the regular paytable ones, but there are now collector bees and booster bees as well.
The booster bees appear only on reels one and five and come in a couple of different varieties:
- Coin Adder: Adds coins to all empty positions on the row where it lands.
- Coin upgrader: Increases the value of all coins on the row where it lands.
- Gold Coin Adder: Adds one guaranteed gold coin to the row where it lands.
- Plus One: Awards an additional free spin.
Dream Jackpot
At the start of any base game spin, the Dream Drop bonus round may randomly be activated. When this occurs, three ‘DD’ symbols will land in the spots normally reserved for the collector bees, and you will be taken to another screen where you will try to collect as many additional ‘DD’ symbols as possible.
When the Dream Drop feature is triggered, you are guaranteed to collect one of the five jackpots. Of course, most of the time, it is obviously going to be the smaller RAPID, MIDI, or MAXI jackpots, but every now and again, somebody will hit it big and collect the MAJOR or MEGA prizes.
Beellionaires Dream Drop Slot Review Final Thoughts
If you are going to play a progressive jackpot online slot, then Beellionaires is as good a pick as any. The three-spin feature seemed relatively easy to trigger but was far less generous than the far less common free spins bonus round. It’s the RTP which really gets me though – at just 82% after factoring in the progressive contributions; your bankroll could well vanish in less time than it takes to nip and put the kettle on.
