Game Overview

Casino game provider Play’n GO’s Barn Busters takes place on a sleepy farmyard, and you’ll be able to ring the bell scatter symbols, wake the wolf, and spin the Prize Wheel, all in an attempt to win the game’s maximum win potential of up to 7,500x!

Theme & Design

For us, farm slots are always a bit hit or miss. Some of the older farm-themed slots tended to offer very poor, basic designs, and while this has changed a bit in recent years, there’s still a lot of trash out there. Still, there have been some semi-decent releases, like Lucky Farm Bonanza and Banana Farm, but today, it’s Barn Busters we’re taking a look at!

Visually, it’s really well designed, and the mechanics also give off quite a strong “Huff N’ More Puff” vibe. The reels are set atop a green farmyard, and you can just about make out the mischievous wolf poking his head in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Above the reels are two perpetually spinning Prize Wheels, and these are core to pretty much all aspects of the game. More on those shortly.

Barn Busters Gameplay & Bonus Features

Barn Busters is designed around a familiar five-reel, three-row layout, and the game uses a 243-ways-to-win mechanic, so you don’t need to worry about where symbols land in view! The game boasts an above-average RTP of 96.2%, although like all Play’n GO games, this can be adjusted, and you can bet between €0.10 and €100 per spin.

Now, the core of the game is the Prize Wheel, and this can trigger randomly when one or two Big Bell scatter symbols land. When this happens, you’ll see the wolf awaken – and he’ll then spin the wheel. Here, you can land instant cash prizes, fixed jackpots, an upgrade notch (which takes you to the second wheel with bigger and better prizes), character re-spins, or direct entry to the Barn Spins.

The Barn Spins can also be triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view, and doing so awards you with 6 free spins. Like Huff N’ More Puff, the bonus revolves around frames. Triggering the bonus round with three scatter symbols begins with 3 Hay Frames, four scatter symbols awards 4 Wooden Frames, and five scatter symbols awards 5 Golden Frames.

During the round, any Big Bell scatter that lands creates a new Hay frame on an empty cell or upgrades an existing frame along a simple path: You can also receive random extra spins on any spin.

Once the bonus round ends, every framed position turns into a barn and pays an instant prize by tier: Hay barns award between 2x and 5x, wooden barns award between 6x and 12.5x, and golden barns award between 15x and 25x.

Pros

  • Win up to 7,500x.
  • Prize Wheel mechanic can trigger at any time.
  • RTP of 96.20%.

Cons

  • Feels VERY similar to Huff N’ More puf.
  • Prize Wheel often lands on low values.
  • All Play’n GO slots are available in adjustable RTP settings

Barn Busters Slot Review Final Thoughts

Barn Busters may not be the most unique or intuitive release from Play’n GO, but it looks good, plays smoothly, and offers a wide variety of different bonuses and features. Now, yes, it’s clearly VERY heavily inspired by Huff N’ More Puff, but there are some differences.

Firstly, there is no bonus buy in Barn Busters. The Prize Wheel also offers slightly different awards. The maximum that Golden barns pay is just 25x, too, which is quite a lot lower, but it’s still a solid game, and with a maximum win potential of 7,500x, you can hit some decent payouts too, if luck’s on your side!
