Slot Overview
Artifacts is Peter & Sons’ latest release, and this 5×3 cascading reels game is designed around a 243-ways-to-win mechanic. There are reel multipliers, random feature box power-ups, persistent multipliers, free spins, and a maximum win potential of 20,000x. On paper? It looks solid. What did the Demoslot team think during testing? Let’s find out.
Gameplay & Bonus Features
Artifacts are played on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 243 ways to win, where wins are formed from left to right. The Cascading Reels, which allows new ones to drop down and take their place, removes any winning symbols. Bets range from €0.20 to €50 per spin, and the game boasts an RTP of 96%.
Now, one of the first mechanics you’ll see is the reel multipliers. When a winning combination covers a reel, that reel’s multiplier is applied to the win, and if all reels are involved in the winning cascade, their multipliers are added together and applied to the total win for that spin. In the base game, multipliers reset after each spin.
You will also notice the feature boxes below the reels. These randomly trigger power-ups, and they can either add to reel multipliers, multiply a single reel multiplier, add to all reel multipliers, or multiply all reel multipliers. Golden symbols also appear; some symbol positions randomly have a golden hue to them, and if a win is formed on that position, they transform into Wilds on the following spin.
Landing 3, 4, or 5 of the scatter symbols anywhere in view triggers the Free Spins bonus. You then receive 6 free games, with each additional Scatter symbol awarding +2 spins. During the bonus, reel multipliers do not reset between spins.
Golden Bet & Bonus Buy
Artifacts include several optional features if you don’t want to wait for the action to land naturally. The Golden Bet increases your stake by 1.5x and doubles the chance of triggering the Free Spins bonus, and you can also purchase:
- 6 Free Spins: Costs 90x
- Random Free Spins (6-10): Costs 180x
- Power Free Spins: Costs 270x. During the Power Free Spins, you have a higher chance of landing higher-value Multiplier Power-Ups.

Theme & Design
Artifacts lean into Peter & Sons’ signature fantasy style, combining warm tavern vibes with some long-lost relics and cartoon-styled adventurers. Like all of their games, it looks fantastic, and the interface is clean and minimalist but detailed enough to ensure you’re caught up with what’s going on.
For us, it shares some visual similarities to Book of Shadows, and Baron: Lord of Saturday also comes to mind. We like the way the feature boxes and multiplier effects are presented, and design-wise, we have absolutely no complaints.
Pros
- Massive maximum win potential of 20,000x.
- Layered multiplier mechanics with additive and multiplicative boosts.
- Sticky Reel Multipliers during the bonus.
Cons
- Base game multipliers reset between spins.
- Power Free Spins cost quite a lot.
- Bonus Buy options unavailable in some markets.
Final Thoughts
Artifacts is a multiplier-focused slot from Peter & Sons, and we really like what they’ve done here. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but we feel the game developer has done a solid job of making it feel unique, and if you’re a fan of cascading reels and upgradeable features, you’ll probably enjoy what this has to offer.
The interaction between feature boxes and reel multipliers works really well, especially when golden symbols convert into Wilds, and yes, it’s a bit annoying that multipliers reset between spins in the base game, but what else would you expect, really?
It’s volatile, yes, but that’s to be expected from a game that offers a maximum win potential of 20,000x, but with the Power Free Spins and the right setup? It’s not hard to see how that max win could, theoretically at least, be achieved. Another solid release from Peter & Sons, and one that we’ll definitely be trying for ourselves once it’s live!
