Slot Overview
Anime Cosplay VS is a bright, anime-styled slot from Pragmatic Play, built around expanding multiplier wilds, sticky wild free spins, and the ability for you to choose between two volatility modes, Aiko or Yui. With a maximum win potential of 15,000x and a well-executed theme, it looks good on the surface. Is it worth a spin? Let’s find out.
Theme & Design
Anime Cosplay VS is themed around a colourful anime convention, where two cosplayers, Aiko and Yui, act as the two different “modes” of the game. Pragmatic has done a pretty good job with presentation here, and the user interface and background actually shift depending on which character you end up choosing to play with.
The backdrop is clearly Tokyo; you can see Tokyo tower on the right-hand side, with a classic Japanese street running directly behind the reels. Anime Cosplay VS looks great, and reminds us of other anime-inspired games like Anime Mecha Megaways and Rainbow Princess.

Anime Cosplay Vs Gameplay & Bonus Features
Anime Cosplay VS is played on a 5×5 grid layout with 15 fixed paylines. You can stake between €0.10 and €100 per spin, and the RTP sits at 96.07%, which is very slightly above the current industry average. When you load the game you’ll be prompted to pick from two volatility modes: Aiko and Yui. Aiko is classed as being “High” variance, while Yui is “Very High.”
In both modes, base game wins rely quite heavily on expanding wilds, and any wild symbols that land expand to fill the entire reel they appear on. When a Wild symbol expands, it also displays a random multiplier of up to 100x. If more than one expanding wild form part of a win, the multipliers are combined before being applied to the win.
Now, the main bonus round is a free spins feature, and this is triggered by landing three scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5. Doing so awards 10 free spins, and during the bonus round any expanding Wilds that land lock in place and stick there for the duration of the feature. Of course, if you manage to land two or three Wilds with high multipliers, the latter spins of the bonus can produce some monster hits!
Bonus Buy
Anime Cosplay VS includes several buy options that vary depending on character mode. In Aiko mode, standard free spins cost 75x and a special version that guarantees an Expanding Wild on the first spin costs 300x. In Yui mode, standard free spins cost 150x, with the same 300x enhanced option available.
Pros
- Win up to 15,000x your bet.
- Choose-your-volatility with Aiko and Yui.
- Sticky expanding Wilds with multipliers of up to 100x.
Cons
- The only difference in volatility modes is the maths, NOT features.
- Base game wins are incredibly low without multipliers.
- Bonus Buy options are unavailable in some regions.
Anime Cosplay Vs Slot Review Final Thoughts
Anime Cosplay VS is a pretty decent looking slot from Pragmatic Play, although astute slots fans will recognise the format as the same one seen in a couple of previous releases from the studio. Still, Anime Cosplay VS does a great job when it comes to design, and we love the Japanese/Tokyo look and feel.
The ability to choose your volatility, again, isn’t overly unique, but it’s not overly common, so it’s nice to see Pragmatic Play experimenting even with this. The VS feature, of course, feels heavily borrowed from Hacksaw Gaming, but overall, Anime Cosplay VS is a decent release, and with a maximum win potential of up to 15,000x, it’s likely to attract players, too.

It seems like this is another version of Zeus vs Hades, but it is more friendly to play. I tried buying the feature 3 times and I was able to make a profit.
