Game Overview
It was a good few years ago now as part of a work trip, but I once went on a murder mystery weekend, and it was surprisingly fun, especially as our team managed to narrow down the list of suspects and eventually nail the perpetrator. Why am I bringing this up? Well, the Peter & Sons slot Alibi reminded me of it, as the theme follows a detective as he seemingly hunts down the person responsible for a crime spree. In his armoury of tools to crack the case, there are three variations of a mystery symbol that can trigger, potentially helping to catch the criminal and bring you the max win reward of 5,000x the bet.
Theme & Design
Peter & Sons slots are typically very distinctive, but that’s not the case in Alibi, and were it not for the credit and stake selection display, you wouldn’t be able to recognise this as a release from the brand without further investigation. Onto the theme then, and as I discussed in the intro, the game has a murder mystery feel to it, so think something along the lines of Cluedo, and you won’t be far off the mark. As for the setting, we’re out somewhere on a lake, where the house in the background is the likely venue for where a murder has been committed, and going by the soundtrack, Peter & Sons has sent us back in time somewhere between the 50s and 60s.
Those of you who fancy yourselves as amateur sleuths might want to stick around the crime slots niche a little longer and see what else you can get stuck into. If that’s the case, use our dedicated page I just linked, or if you want a couple of suggestions, try out Heist Guys from Elk Studios and Cops ‘n’ Robbers Megaways by Inspired Gaming.

Alibi Gameplay & Features
Set over a 5×4 reel configuration, Alibi has 50 fixed paylines and features an RTP of 96%. Staking options begin from a minimum of €0.20 to a maximum of €50, with players having the option to toggle on the Golden Bet, which increases the chances of triggering the feature at an additional cost of 50% on top of the original stake.
The key element in Alibi is the mystery symbol modifiers that can trigger in the base game and bonus round. When activated, there are three variations of this:
- Expanding Mystery Feature: Mystery symbols expand to cover the entire reel.
- Adjacent Mystery Feature: Converts two adjacent symbols into mystery symbols.
- Transforming Mystery Feature: Picks one symbol and converts them all into mystery symbols.
Whilst these mystery symbols do trigger in the base game, once the free spins bonus is activated by landing three or more scatters in view, they are guaranteed to trigger on every spin.
Bonus Buy
Those wishing to skip the base game can jump straight to the free spins courtesy of the bonus buy option. This will cost 100x for 7 free spins or 200x for a random number of free spins.
Pros
- Mystery symbols are active in the base game and bonus round.
- The feature seems to trigger regularly when the Golden Bet is active.
- Not a generic theme.
Cons
- Lacks features.
- Doesn't feel up to the usual standard of a Peter & Sons release.
Alibi Slot Review Final Thoughts
I say it often here at Demoslot that not every game is going to be a banger, and I'd imagine that most of the time developers know when they are releasing a filler slot that's only purpose is to fill a quota for the month or year. I'm not saying that's the case here with Alibi, but when you compare it to the majority of titles released by Peter & Sons, it doesn't even close with regard to the quality.
Maybe that's just me being overcritical, but I'm sure you'll have your own opinion, too. So, give the demo a try and you can always let us know in the comments if you agree or disagree with my thoughts.
