Game Overview
Provider BGaming certainly leaves you wondering with the title of its latest release. It’s simply called Adventures, which begs the question, what type of adventures? Is it adventures into outer space? Or maybe we’re talking about adventures under the sea or perhaps through a jungle? Your guess is as good as mine, but it’s only when you open the slot for the first time that you realise this is an Asian anime-inspired adventure that pits you and your group of heroes in a Final Fantasy-style battle against several boss monsters. Before I unravel the slot’s interesting features, let’s start with the basics. Adventures is a 6×5 cluster pays slot with a 97.10% RTP and a 2,100x maximum win.
I mentioned Final Fantasy simply because as you spin the reels, your four heroes seemingly take turns to attack the bosses and whittle down their health bar. Three monsters seemingly tag each other in after in to continue the fight after every 10 spins. If you defeat a boss within those spins, you trigger the bonus game associated with the monster. There’s a picking game, a spoon of a 3-position slot that reveals a multiplier win, and a spin on 6×5 reels that delivers cash symbols for you to scoop up.
Think you and your trusted Anime heroes have what it takes to defeat the bosses, trigger the bonus games, and reap the rewards? Then put your (demo) money where your mouth is and play the Adventures slot demo below.
Adventures Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Much like it has in Western culture in recent years, anime has also been making its mark in the slots vertical. We’re witnessing more and more slot releases that use this Asian comic book art form, and as someone who’s binge-watched the likes of Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Inuyasha, I’m loving every moment of it. If you’re a fellow anime admirer, I recommend you check out our free demo play slots of Pragmatic Play’s Starlight Princess, another 6×5 cluster/cascades slot, AvatatUX’s Kokeshi Pop Popwins and Play’n Go’s Dio Killing the Dragon.
Whilst those recommendations all offer different kinds of adventures to BGaming’s Adventures slot, you’ll still want to finish checking out today’s review in full before you go and give them a try. Right, I’ll tell you about the escapades you’ll get up to on Adventures all in good time, but first, let’s inspect the symbol rewards listed on the paytable. The Spellbook is by far the most lucrative of the symbols, with 100x the stake returned for 12+ combinations. The Axe can reward up to 30x, the Dagger is worth a maximum of 25x, and the Harp could reward you with up to 20x. The Orb, Shield, Bomb, and Mug of Beer round off the paytable with payouts of up to 10x, 8x, 5x, and 4x, respectively.
You can choose your bet by clicking or touching the up and down arrows next to your current stake. You can pick a minimum bet of €0.10 per spin or over a dozen other options before reaching the maximum bet of €120.00.
Adventures Slot Base Game & Modifiers
Adventures is a 6×5 grid slot that uses a cluster pays mechanic, which means winning combinations are formed when four or more matching symbols are connected vertically or horizontally anywhere on the reels.
Cascading Reels
Complementing that cluster pays mechanic is a cascading reels feature that removes winning symbols. That allows more to fall onto the grid and occupy the vacated reel positions. Of course, it also means more winning combos can be completed, which triggers further cascades.
Adventures Slot Bonus Features
There’s no need to land scatter or bonus symbols on Adventures, as triggering the bonus game is done in a unique yet gruelling way. The premise is that the four main heroes to the bottom right of the reels are tasked with defeating the bosses. The boss you defeat determines the bonus game you receive.
Heroes & Bosses
You’ll see the current Boss to the top right of the reels and a health meter beneath it. The Boss will change to another every 10 base game spins, which means you have 10 spins to defeat him before starting over with another Boss. As you complete winning combinations during those spins, the health of the Boss depletes.
There are three different bosses and, therefore, three different bonus games to trigger:
- Goblin Spin: If you defeat the Goblin, you’ll receive a spin of reels that can land blanks or cash symbols. At the end of the spin, you’ll receive the combined total of all cash symbols that landed.
- Cerberus Cash: This gives you a spin of a 3-position row that will deliver a multiplier of your stake of between 11x and 1,800x.
- Dragon’s Chest: Beating the dragon triggers a picking game. You must pick one of six chests to reveal a multiplier of your stake.
Bonus Buy
If you’re not one for hanging around and would rather buy your way into the bonus games above, you can do just that via the bonus buy option.
- Dragon’s Chest: 75x your current stake.
- Cerberus Cash: 100x your current bet.
- Goblin Spin: 150x your current stake.
Pros
- The battle aspect has the potential to entertain.
- An RTP of 97.10% is not to be sniffed at.
Cons
- A 2,100x max win is extremely low in this day and age.
Adventures Slot Review Final Thoughts
I’m a huge fan of the artwork on display here, and I love the Final Fantasy-inspired battle action throughout the base game. Unfortunately, aside from the Goblin Spin Bonus, which yielded decent results each time I triggered it, the bonus games are not all that great. It’s different, though, and I feel a good section of you will have a great time playing BGaming’s Adventures.
