Slot Overview
5 Wild Buffalo 3 is the latest release from 4ThePlayer, a provider who’s been very underwhelming in recent years. Can they shift away from their low-quality, uninspiring titles and produce something that actually feels… worth playing? Or is 5 Wild Buffalo 3 going to be another game that could have been created by a 3-year-old? Let’s find out.
Gameplay & Bonus Features
5 Wild Buffalo 3 runs on a five-reel, four-row layout, and there are 1024 ways to win used. You can bet between €0.20 and €20 per spin, and the game’s RTP is very slightly above average; 96.04%.
In the base game, when four Buffalo land stacked on the same reel, they merge into a single stacked Multiplier Buffalo. In the base game, this can be worth up to 10x. If more than one stacked reel lands next to one another, their multipliers are combined, too.
The main Free Spins bonus is triggered by landing 3+ Scatters anywhere in view. During the feature, Double Buffalo symbols can land, and these count as two Buffalo, and they’re also able to form stacks of their own. If you land four Double Buffalo stacked on a reel, Buffalo Thunder can trigger, awarding multipliers of up to 20x.
4ThePlayer’s Boosting Fortunes mechanic is also present in 5 Wild Buffalo 3. On any regular symbol, Diamonds can appear overlaid, and each time a Diamond lands, it feeds into one of the Fortune Prizes, increasing its value. If you trigger the Boosting Fortunes bonus, you then play a “Pick me Bonus” until you win one of the available jackpots.
Feature Buy
5 Wild Buffalo 3 includes two Feature Buy options. You can pay 50x to enter the Free Spins bonus or 100x for a guaranteed Buffalo Thunder trigger.

Theme & Design
5 Wild Buffalo and 5 Wild Buffalo 2 were, like most of 4ThePlayer’s games, two titles that sensationally underdelivered; they had poor-quality graphics, weak mechanics, and gameplay that felt boring and lazy. From a visual point of view, 5 Wild Buffalo 3 looks better, we’ll give the studio that.
As soon as you start looking under the hood, however, the same issues that have plagued 4ThePlayer for so long become immediately apparent. The reels are clunky, the animations are anything but fluid, and the game feels like… well, like it was made 15 years ago when Flash was still in use. Is it the worst game we’ve seen? No. Is it one we’d play? Also no.
Pros
- Buffalo Thunder stacks can be moderately exciting.
- Double Buffalo during the Free Spins offers some semi-decent win potential.
- The RTP of 96.04% is slightly above the industry average.
Cons
- Base game payouts are very low without multipliers.
- Boosting Fortunes mechanic feels pointless; low prizes, and rare triggers.
- Graphics and design look old, outdated, and clunky.
Final Thoughts
5 Wild Buffalo 3 is another release from 4ThePlayer that, honestly, makes us wonder how the software provider has ANY footing in the online gambling market whatsoever. Look, we don’t hate everything the software provider puts out, but we just don’t understand why, in 2026, their games still play so... clunkily!
The design isn’t the worst in the world, but the game just feels super awkward to spin, which is the case with pretty much all 4ThePlayer titles. Sure, there are some semi-decent mechanics in play here, like the Buffalo Thunder and Double Buffalo, but Boosting Fortunes is something we’ve never been a fan of, and it very much feels like a gimmicky mechanic used by 4ThePlayer in some of their games to try and attract attention, rather than being something players actually enjoy.
If you like “stampede” slots where the base game is quiet, but the bonus rounds hold some potential, then yes, 5 Wild Buffalo 3 might be for you. If, like us, you didn't enjoy the previous 5 Wild Buffalo releases, then don’t expect anything better here; come on 4ThePlayer... you can do better than this.
