Game Overview

Any gambler’s dream is to play a slot that’s absolutely on fire, delivering win after win, so could that turn out to be the case in the aptly named 5 Flaming Dollars slot from 4ThePlayer? Let’s find out as we explore more about this 5-reel game featuring the Hold & Win mechanic.

Theme & Design

5 Flaming Dollars has a very classic and retro theme, with the backdrop to the game being that red velvety style design you often see on slots in this genre, with, of course, flames and burning embers appearing to keep in with the title of the game. This isn’t exactly a design that is going to scream out and grab your attention, but I’m sure there will be a group of players who prefer this toned-down approach rather than some online slots where it feels there is far too much going on from the minute the release hits your screen.

Rather than list a number of slots in this section that are similar to 5 Flaming Dollars, I think it would be a much better idea to get you to look in on our classic slots category and the Hold & Win slots page, where you’ll have a bigger selection of games to choose from.

5 Flaming Dollars Gameplay & Overview

4ThePlayer’s 5 Flaming Dollars is a 5-reel, 3-row online slot featuring a collection win mechanic and a below-average RTP of 94%. Staking options start from a minimum of €0.20 to a maximum of €2, but that upper limit is likely to be increased at most online casinos where this game is offered for real money play.

Okay, there are no paylines; instead, there is a collection mechanic. So, what is it, and how does it work? You’ll be pleased to know that it’s very simple to understand, and at the top of the reels you will see a meter numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. If you land 3 or more of the prize coins in view, you will be awarded that total sum as a win. However, if you land 5 or more, you will trigger the Hold & Win feature, where you are initially given 3 respins. Each time a new symbol lands in view, the spin count is replenished to 3. The bonus will end when you hit three consecutive losing spins.

Pros

  • Prizes are awarded if 3 values land in view.
  • Some may prefer the toned-down graphics and features.

Cons

  • Below average RTP.
  • No talk of the max win in the rules.

5 Flaming Dollars Slot Review Final Thoughts

I was quite hopeful of what 5 Flaming Dollars might bring to the table in the Hold & Win niche, but it got off to a bad start, reminding me about persistent coin values every time I went to change the stake, which was quite annoying. From there it just continued to go downhill, really, with lots of dead spins, drawn-out teases, and finally a bonus round or two that returned next to nothing.

As I always say, reviewing slots is subjective, and you might enjoy what's on offer here, but for me, 5 Flaming Dollars is a complete miss and not a game I'd ever go back to playing again.
