Slot Overview
Forty Shining Crown Bell Link is EGT Digital’s royal spin-off of their classic fruit machine formula. It takes the classic 5-reel, 4-row, 40-payline layout and adds in expanding crown wilds, a dual scatter setup, progressive jackpots, and their signature Bell Link Hold’n Spin mechanic. It may not be the most groundbreaking release in the world, but does it need to be? Let’s find out
Gameplay & Bonus Features
40 Shining Crown Bell Link is played on a five-reel, four-row grid with 40 fixed paylines, an RTP of 96.5%, and medium-high volatility. You can bet from €0.50 to €50 per spin, although some casinos may have different bet limits. The Crown Wild appears on reels 2, 3, and 4, and when it lands, it expands to cover the full reel. It then sticks around for the next spin, too.
The Bell Link jackpot feature is the main feature, and it’s triggered when five or more bell symbols land on screen in a single base game spin. You’re then awarded three Bell Link Free Spins where only bell symbols can land. Each new bell that appears resets your spins back to three, so it’s a pretty typical Hold ‘n Spin feature.
A full screen of bells multiplies all visible prizes by 3x (or 4x if a Reels Boost bell was part of the triggering spin). Landing 15 to 19 bells triggers a 2x multiplier across the board too. There are also the actual Bell Link jackpots. Landing 3 identical green, blue, purple, or red bells anywhere in view, during the base game or bonus, awards the corresponding jackpot instantly.

Theme & Design
If you’ve played any EGT Digital slot before, you’ll probably feel at home playing 40 Shining Crown: Bell Link. The Shining Crown series of games has been somewhat of a staple in the EGT catalogue since 2014, and the Bell Link version keeps most of the same classic Fruit Machine vibes.
You’ll see grapes, watermelons, lemons, cherries, and the obligatory lucky sevens all making an appearance on the reels, with a shimmering, shiny crown taking centre stage as the game’s highest-paying symbol.
The reels are set on a dark red backdrop, and while it may not be winning any design awards soon, it does the job and looks decent enough. If you’ve played 40 Burning Hot Bell Link, or pretty much any other EGT Bell Link title before, you’ll recognise everything that’s going on here pretty much right away. It’s easy on the eyes and simple to understand, which is presumably what EGT was going for here.
Pros
- Solid 96.50% RTP
- Four-tier progressive jackpots via Bell Link
- Expanding Crown Wild with sticky mechanic
Cons
- No free spins round outside of Bell Link
- No Bonus Buy option
- Low maximum win potential of 1,200x
Final Thoughts
40 Shining Crown Bell Link does exactly what it says on the tin, it's a decent, good-looking classic-style fruit slot with progressive jackpot potential and a Hold 'n Spin feature that can deliver some decent hits. The 96.5% RTP is solid, especially for a progressive jackpot game, and the Expanding Crown Wild mechanic - alongside the jackpots - ensures there’s action in the base game, too.
That said, it's hard to shake the feeling that you've played this before, just with a different name. If you're already a fan of the Bell Link series or EGT's classic-style catalogue, then, yes, you’ll probably enjoy it - but if you’re loading the game hoping for something brand new, just make sure you keep your expectations in check! A decent little slot overall, though, and one that’s quite fun to play.
