Slot Overview

40 Burning Hot Bell Link is another instalment in EGT’s Bell Link jackpot series of games, and it’s designed around a 5-reel, 4-row, 40-payline layout with an Expanding Wild, dual Scatters, the signature Bell Link Hold ‘n Spin feature, and four-tier progressive jackpots. The Burning Hot name is one of EGT’s most recognisable, so how did 40 Burning Hot Bell Link stand up to our testing? Let’s find out.

Gameplay & Bonus Features

40 Burning Hot Bell Link plays out on a 5×4 grid with 40 fixed paylines and an RTP of 95.60%, and it’s designed around a medium-high maths model. You can bet from €0.50 to €50 per spin, and wins are formed from left to right.

The Expanding Wild appears on reels 2, 3, and 4, and when it lands and forms part of a win, it expands and locks in place for the following spin. The Star Scatter is a paying symbol, independent of paylines, while the Dollar Scatter awards payouts for 3, 4, and five-of-a-kind lines.

Bell Link, as you’d imagine, is the game’s main feature, and landing 5+ Bell symbols in the base game awards three Bell Link Free Spins. Here, only Bell symbols can land, and each new Bell resets the counter back to three.

A full screen of bells applies a 3x multiplier to all visible prizes (4x if a Reels Boost bell was part of the trigger). 15 to 19 bells earns a 2x multiplier, too. If you match three red Bells, you win the Grand Jackpot, with three green Bells awarding the Major.

40 Burning Hot Bell Link also includes three bonus buy options. Reels Boost costs 100x, the Bell Link feature costs 50x, and you can also pay 75x for a 50/50 chance of hitting both.

Theme & Design

Burning Hot has been somewhat of an EGT “staple” for years, and this Bell Link version keeps everything that helped to make the original work: you’ll see flame-kissed fruit symbols, a familiar land-based casino-style design, and classic fruit machine symbols like clovers, stars, watermelons, oranges, and grapes.

It looks good, and it loads well across all devices, but if you’ve played 40 Shining Crown Bell Link, or pretty much any other Bell Link release, before, then you’ll recognise the bones of this game pretty much right away.

Pros

  • One of EGT’s most iconic slots series
  • Expanding Wilds + Jackpots

Cons

  • Mechanically identical to several other Bell Link slots
  • No standalone Free Spins feature

Final Thoughts

There's not a huge amount to say about 40 Burning Hot Bell Link that wasn't already true of 40 Shining Crown Bell Link, and that’s because, at their core, they’re basically the same game, just with a different lick of paint!

For us, the Burning Hot theme is probably slightly stronger, and we feel the fruit-y look and feel gives a bit more visual energy. We also like the fact that there are three bonus buy options, and at just 50x, the Bell Link Free Spins are pretty affordable, too.

Yes, the maximum win potential is low at just 1,200x, but if you’re a fan of EGT's classic style and the Bell Link progressive system, then this is another solid addition well-worth checking out.
