Q1. There has been a noticeable surge in games offering multipliers of x1,000 or more. From your perspective, what is driving this trend in terms of player engagement?

A lot of the demand for big multipliers comes down to that moment of emotional payoff that these types of games offer. Players want to feel that sense of possibility, the idea that one spin could completely shift the experience. Large multipliers represent that kind of magic. They create a sense of “what if?” and that feeling keeps people engaged even when the win does not come immediately. Similar to the role of jackpots within slots, but these levels of multipliers are more attainable during the gameplay and offer an attractive payout. At Kendoo, we try to design with that emotion in mind. It is never just about placing a large number on the screen but about making sure the anticipation around it genuinely means something.

One of the very important points about the x1,000 multiplier in Forge of Vulcan is that it can be hit by any player with any size of bet at any moment in the game – there is no hidden segmentation inside this game; it genuinely can pay big at any point of gameplay.

Q2. Many of these high-multiplier titles still sit within familiar formats such as Hold & Win or cluster pays. Why is it essential to anchor new multiplier ideas to trusted mechanics?

Players want to explore new concepts, but they also want to understand what is happening from the first few spins. By introducing a x1,000 multiplier on top of familiar mechanics, it removes the friction and instantly elevates the gameplay. Whether the foundation is a Hold & Win bonus or a classic line or cluster pay, players quickly find their place. We often start from that point of comfort and then layer in fresh twists. Familiarity brings players in, while innovation keeps them exploring further.

Q3. Since big multipliers are rare, how can design and sound elevate the experience so that those moments feel rewarding when they do occur?

This is where art direction and sound come into their own. When a x1,000 lands, it should feel like the game pauses for a breath. The audio needs to build naturally, the visuals have to respond in a way that lifts the tension, and the whole atmosphere should shift for a second.

When a x1,000 multiplier hits, the pace slows slightly, and everything feels heavier, making the moment unmistakably significant. The aim is always to turn the hit into an experience, not just a number.

Q4. There is always a balance to strike between anticipation, fair volatility and straightforward gameplay. What challenges come with building a game around large multipliers?

Finding that balance is one of the most complex aspects of the development process. If the multiplier feels unreachable, players eventually switch off. If it appears too often, the impact is diluted. The challenge is to create the right rhythm, the sense that an exciting feature could be unlocked at any moment, without overpromising or overwhelming the player.

We spend a lot of time fine-tuning these elements. It is not only about the big hit but also about how the journey towards it keeps players entertained from one session to the next.

Q5. How has Kendoo integrated high multipliers into recent or upcoming releases, and what have you learned from player behaviour?

We have, and Forge of Vulcan is a good example. The game introduces multipliers of up to x1,000 through special symbols that lock during cascades and apply to the total win, with the feature building even further in Free Spins as collected multipliers combine into a growing Total Multiplier.

What we have learned is that players respond strongly to this gradual escalation. It is not only the x1,000 that creates impact, but the way the feature builds spin by spin. That rising sense of potential is what drives engagement and makes the moment memorable.

Q6. Do these types of games resonate more strongly in specific markets or with particular player segments? What trends are you seeing globally?

High multipliers tend to work best in regions where players already enjoy high volatility, such as Eastern Europe, LatAm, the CIS and parts of Canada. These audiences appreciate that rush of adrenaline and the sense of risk, so the appeal is very natural. However, we are starting to see interest grow beyond those regions as players everywhere become more comfortable experimenting with different types of experiences.

The appeal is no longer just about winning a large payout. It is also about the visual atmosphere, the audio build-up and the overall cinematic feel. This trend is still evolving, and we are excited to explore how players respond in new markets.
